My spouse and I were fortunate enough to have our case expidited by NVC. Does anyone know the time frame from here? We received the approval notice yesterday and the case has been transfered to the embassy. Do we wait for the embassy to contact us? How long should we expect to wait and what the next steps are? Thanks in advance!

I just got my case expedited. NVC sent case on Oct 7th and Embassy received it on Oct 16th.

Embassy notified us when they received it via email.
I’m sure each Embassy has different times to receive and process, but that is my experience for whatever it’s worth.

Don't get excited. My case was approved in September and the embassy sent my file October 6th. I contacted the embassy and they stated that only "emergency" approvals are receiving interviews, and they will inform us when routine services begin, and that expedited cases will be done first, in order they were received. They told me I could file an emergency request, which I did. Still waiting on their reply. Its very disheartening. I have seen where some VJ folks posted they got interviews only with expedite approval, but they seem to be very few. Now with the new lockdowns in Europe, and UK it is even more disheartening. Good luck.

Unfortunately I also had to switch embassies due to lockdown from Kuwait to Egypt and Kuwait has resumed some Immigrant visa cases. I am furious obviously. If my husband can return to Kuwait (many countries banned from entering), I will request to switch back. This process is a nightmare.

Sorry to hear that, we didn’t have any issues. Nairobi record the file from NVC in two days had us schedule a medical appointment about a day later and then contacted us for an appointment at the consulate once they received the medical.
I hope things start moving for y’all.

Hopefully I'm not prying too much, if you don't mind my asking, what was your reason to expedite?

(I'm also an IR-1 filer in Nairobi).

My spouse had a complicated pregnancy rhat required a longer then usual recovery time. After the passport and CRBA was approved by the embassy for the child  they approved the expidite request.
