PCC address question

Sorta a complex question here. So my husband (he’s in Mumbai area), needs to get PCC so we can finally  be done with NVC documents. Here’s his situation. His passport with his current address is less than a year old. He has not added my name to his passport yet. Because of lockdown, his rent agreement hasn’t been updated for the current year, the owners are scared to leave their home so getting it renewed for the following year will be difficult and time consuming.

My husbands concern is that because he needs to add my name to his passport they are gonna require proof of his address and his rent agreement is expired. Unfortunately, that agreement, our marriage application (marriage certificate doesn’t hv our addresses on) and his passport are only things with his current address he has, everything else has his family’s address on or comes in the owner of his apartments name.

So we’re wondering if his less than a year old passport will be enough for address proof or because of him needing to add my name to his passport, we’re gonna need an updated rent agreement which won’t be available till his landlords get over their virus fear?

We appreciate anyones knowledge or suggestions!

Hi! As per my knowledge, your husband need not to add his spouse name in his passport, if he is applying for a spouse visa (CR1). But if it's a dependent visa then he should add the spouse name. For applying for a passport he can show the adhaar card or a bank account book with the current address on it. In this case, he doesn't need to submit a rent agreement.

Yep, it’s a CR 1 visa and we just need the PCC for NVC so we can hopefully be done with this stage, everything else has been submitted👍🏼. Thank you so much for your insight!!

Thanks again!!!
Maybe you’ll know the answer to this to. Do they make you go to a specific passport office for this clearance certificate? My husband is in Dombivli but when he submitted the PCC application online, they are showing they changed his RPO to one in Mumbai. He went to a local one for his passport so we aren’t sure if cuz he selected he needed this for “immigration other than citizenship” they make you go to a higher up RPO?

Pcc is done at RPO only. Passport can be applied at local office.

Actually we have to take an appointment either in Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) coming under the RPO (He can log on to psk website and there he will get directed to select the psk according to his RPO) or directly to the RPO. Anyway all the application will go to RPO for issuing PCC or passport or anything related. They will either send you the PCC by registered post or will tell to collect it from the office directly. But before doing anything kindly go through the psk website instructions for applying for PCC.

@Sashine @Siddsgal I have one question. I received my PCC last month by post. But, the RPO didn't request me the passport for PCC stamping and hence my passport isn't stamped. But, when I made PCC for my family members couple of years back, their passports got stamped. So is it like rules are changed? Did your passports stamped for PCC?
