Gay pair's photo blacked out of yearbook...

"It looked provocative," she said. "If it was either heterosexual or gay, it should have been blacked out. It's how they posed for the picture."

Russell Garris, the assistant superintendent who oversees the city's high schools, brought the photograph to Bolden's attention Thursday afternoon. He was concerned the picture would be controversial and upsetting to parents, Bolden said.

There are several photos of heterosexual couples kissing in the yearbook, but the superintendent said she didn't review the entire yearbook and was presented only with Jackson's page....

Rules for publication of the pages prohibited shots of gang signs, rude gestures and graphic photos, said Benilde Barroqueiro, an East Side senior graduating with Jackson.

"You know, it couldn't be too provocative. No making out, no tongue," she said.

if youngsters can kiss each other and be in a yearbook....then those gays lads should be..........the students with a faculty advisor, usually design the yearbook..it made the orginal cut...

Interesting how she was only "presented" with this page- I find it even more stupid that the woman didn't review the whole yearbook , what kind of ####### is that?

Btw, the photo can hardly even constitute as making out...no tounge, no groping, no nothing......

If he paid for it like everyone else, and followed the rules of what is allowed to be on the page- then the school administration should change the rules before they start blacking stuff out.

I would also be much more willing to believe the reason for blacking out was impropriety if all the "kissing" photos were blacked out...

It seems that no matter how much diversity training we're getting, people still have a hard time getting over their homophobic views. I wonder if it will ever change.

EVERYthing written, pictured or heard will be offensive to SOMEone- you just have to look hard enough to find a person who finds it offensive...

You are streching it a bit: putting a pic of two guys kiss on the lips and your balls in the same category?

But you know what, if you found that your balls deserve their claim to fame by posting it on VJ I personally wouldn't be offended by it. I might consider you to be a freak and in poor taste, but hey - I don't have to look do I? I don't have to open that thread...

Just like the people don't have to look at that page in the yearbook...

And frankly, a photo of two people fully dressed doing nothing explicit can be made to look more provocative that this one where they are kissing.
