My PD is June 2013. I got I 140 approved with QA Analyst role.  6 months back, I moved to a programmer role with different role and responsibilities to a different team. Can I still file the I-485 , I have been hearing that I should have a new perm approved with the new role.If I can still file with old I 140 can anyone guide me where can I get a supporting document on internet so that I can discuss it with my attorney.

Thanks James. But is it mandatory to have your current I 140 approved with same current role while filing I 485 ? Does USCIS requires proof that what ever my new role is we should have that PERM approved ? My thought is, the current roles and responsibility we are doing now has nothing to do with the future employment ( which has my I 140 approved ) . Please correct me if my understanding is wrong .
