Hi everyone. My wife is filling out her I-751 and we're not sure what to put down for the "Country of Birth" and "Country of Citizenship/Nationality" questions because the name of her country changed last year. She already had her green card before her country's name changed though, so the green card says Macedonia, but technically the new name of the country is North Macedonia.

Is it fine for us to just put North Macedonia down on the forms, even though her green card has the old name?

Per USCIS, you put the name of the Country "at time of birth." It's on one of the documents, I just can't recall which one

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

I don't think its a big issue if you put just Macedonia instead of North Macedonia. Im from Serbia and everywhere it says Republic of Serbia, and i just write Serbia. Never was a issue. And btw Serbia changed names 4 times during my 27 years of life, so all my documents have different name of country.  :D

Oh okay, thanks. That would be for both the "country of birth" and "country of citizenship" questions, right?

Right

Put the Name of the country at the time of the event, County name at the time of birth and current country name now for current country of citizenship questions.
