ROB - Report of Birth

For the ROB - Report of Birth it says we need to send in Original and four (4) photocopies of parent(s) passport data page.  How can we send in the original passport data page? Do we have to send our physical passport in?  Or do they just want another photocopy for 5 copies. The same thing goes for the green card: Original and four (4) photocopies of proof that the parent(s) is/are Filipino(s) at the time of child’s birth (green card, US visa, US naturalization certificate, notice of action, work permit, dual IC)

You can send copies of the green card BUT you can not send your actual green card ... by law you are required to have that in your possession at all times.

 

As for the passport, you can send them if you choose ... it would make me nervous sending the original passport  .. just saying

If you look at the ROB instructions on the Chicago consulate website they are a lot clearer.  I don't know why they are different

Ok thanks guys for the information. So I guess we will just send in photocopies for the passport and her greencard.

 

Do they need my passport copies too? (I am the USA citizen)  Also, do you think I should send in the original copy of the ROM?  We only have one original copy so we don't really want to get rid of it.

 

Also,  what address do I send this to if I am in South Carolina?

Thanks. It says, "Original and four (4) photocopies of Parents’ Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Marriage Certificate or approved Report of Marriage (ROM)"

Then you follow the directions.   Originals are returned

One last question.  Do I just send an envelope with a few stamps included so they can mail it back to me?  Its says, "Self-Addressed USPS Priority/Priority Express Return Envelope (with Stamp and Tracking Number)" 

 

I'm scared to buy a prepaid priority mail label as they expire if not used in a certain time.  Do you think just sending an envelope with stamps would be good enough?  They can send via First Mail too right?

I sent the prepaid priority flat rate label and envelope for return of my wife's passport and had zero issues 2 month later.

Where did you buy the prepaid priority flat rate label and envelope from?  I see on the the USPS site I can buy then, but I have to buy a minimum of 5 which I don't need. Thanks.

The envelopes are free,  I just picked up at my local post office.   If you order online then you order 5 but they are still free.  It's the label that costs $7 or $8 when you print it with postage attached

Those come preloaded with postage and is not what I used.  I got the free envelope and loaded the postage separately on the label.

OK, I found the envelopes for free.  Did you just do a click N ship online postage label or do that at the post office?  Thanks.
