It depends on many factors including what country you are in, what service center you get, and when you apply (e.g. we applied in 2018 and are still processing while some people who applied at the beginning of this year already have their visas). We're on month 25 of processing and are hoping to have an interview next month (but we'll see). The service centers that were slow when we applied are now fast and vice versa. The best thing you can do is look at VJ timelines of other users in your country to get a general idea of how long it'll take, but keep in mind every timeline that you see that was completed before covid should be taken with a pinch of salt.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

For Casablanca embassy depends on a lot of issues (the VJ members asked you in the last post)

normal to go 12 to 15 months for a smooth CR1 in Casa

those that have issues such as age difference and inablitiy for the woman to have children, etc, often are denied and go years for a visa approval

Keep a copy of all the documents and proofs you send to USCIS and understand you may need them later

recently,  Casa has asked 2 members here to provide proofs of chats as far back as 2012 when the couple said they met

it may help you to read the casa portal by clicking on the word portal above and read comments about interviews and the embassy

look at some timelines but ignore mine as ours was extremely long as we had a big age difference

Facebook advice page is not a good one to follow / one person on there said they had interview and got visa the same day which can't happen as it takes about a week to print the visa page (there is no way to do it on the spot)

whatever visa you decide to go for ,  photos of you and his family are critical

and you worry now about the wrong things

read this as Morocco has travel restrictions.   at 1st they did not even allow their own citizens to come home

then ,  it was morocco citizens and those married to them

Royal Moroc airlines is taking passengers from 66 countries including ours as of September with the following resetrctions

From 6 September, visa-exempt foreign travelers with a confirmed hotel reservation or business travelers who have an invitation from a Moroccan company can enter. You must check with your local Moroccan embassy before booking a trip, and check your government's travel advice.

All eligible passengers must meet following conditions to enter Morocco:

  • Complete a passenger health form online, print and sign it to present upon departure
  • Obtain a negative PCR test result for COVID-19, and the results must be dated no earlier than 72 hours before to departure
  • All arrivals will undergo a clinical examination
  • Everyone must download the tracking app ‘Wiqaytna’.

so,  travel to visit him or to marry is still just about impossible as their covid cases has spiked

11 months from filing I-130 to visa in hand...  no expedites, but that was 2018-2019, pre-COVID, and we did lots of front-loading, side-loading of evidence, showing financial co-mingling and many visits, time spent in-person.

You need to know the norms for Morocco as it is high fraud / other countries do not go thru the issues we go thru

and now,  nothing is the norm but as you can see on the portal page,  Casa is starting to interview spouse visas (5 listed there)

and no K1 interviews listed as spouse is the prioity

Posted

It took us 7 months from start to finish in an extremely low fraud country and NVC expedite.

Sorry what did you mean "You worry about the wrong things."  Do you mean no point in worrying about travel as it is very difficult to travel now?"  If not that then what should I be worried about? :)) Thanks in advance

Worry about the covid cases in Morocco and being able to make  plan(s) to visit and perhaps marry there

this decision is going to be based on the virus / you really can't decide this until you know when we will be allowed to travel

The best way to get an approval in Casa embassy is to marry and spend quality time with him

and still you have not answered the issues (big issues we face in Morocco) that were asked by another member

answer those and the VJ community can really help you

1.  is there a big age difference

2.  religious differences

3.  can the woman still have children

and the other questions

and the visa approval will be based on those and several other issues and amount of time spent with him

It took us 11 months for Morocco. Every case is a little different . Just be as organized as you can, and make sure all your ducks are in a row. That’s the best you can do.
