Change of Address: mailing vs physical address

Hi everyone,

I didn't find an answer to my question via search option but was hoping that someone could maybe help me figure this out.

Long story short: my husband and I relocated (from CA) to our family vacation house (in VT) in early June with plans to return to CA in October.

In August, because both of our employers announced that we will remain fully remote until at least Spring of 2021, we decided not to extend the lease for our CA apartment, and instead stay in VT indefinitely. Because we were back-and-forth between the VT house and my husband's parents house in NJ, I changed my address to NJ house.

In September we fully settled in the VT house, and I updated my physical address to VT. However because there is no USPS service to our house in VT (we have a PO Box, but unfortunately - the service in our rural area is still not very reliable, and we're worried that our mail won't make it to us a) on time; b) at all) - I left our mailing address as the NJ house.

2 questions:

1) How long does it take for the online system to update the physical address? I made the update on September 21, and received online confirmations for both I-751 and N400 but my online account is still showing just the NJ address. Should I update it again?

2) Is having 2 addresses in 2 different states an issue? Should I switch the mailing address to our PO Box even if there's a risk of not getting the mail on time? Or should I change both back to NJ address (but we rarely go there anymore & don't plan to spend much time there this upcoming winter)

Thank you!

1. as long as your i-751 and N400 addresses are update, u should be fine

2. i heard some people said its fine to have 2 addresses, but my lawyer himself said no. so i'm torn aswell and in the end i just use one address which is where i currently reside right now. if i remember correctly theres a real address that u can rent, either USPS or UPS and its not PO box
