Have a PHD (which is actually my Post Hole Digger). And it comes in handy sometimes

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

My original major was Chem Engg.; unfortunately, the bottom fell out of Canada's oil industry a little before I graduated (due in no small measure to chopfrack Jean Chretien's National Energy Policy :ranting: ), so I switched to doing an Assoc. Degree in IT, followed by MSCS (at a US university); my basic work experience has been in IT.

Dude - Chemical Engineering and systems science is one of the hottest fields these days. Systems Engineers have an average starting salary of $100K USD / year fresh outa school. Nanotech is exploding. Interesting stuff, too. The chemical properties of tiny nano particles change significantly from their marco properties, and we don't know what almost any of 'em do. The industrial potential is phenomenal, and guys with Chem Engineering degrees are raking it in now.

I'm back in school now. I was a music/neurophysiology major + dropped out because being a music major is actually counterproductive for a performer. Now I'm back, studying Music, Education, and Neurophysiology.

Yes, I use all of those in my professional life. However, strangely, the most directly applicable - Music - is strangely what I use the least, because what I learn in school about music mostly doesn't apply. I'm thinking of going to Berklee for a bit. I'm sure the top level schools are better, especially for networking.

Your absence runs through me like a needle
