My first major was Early Childhood Education, changed that to Psychology (because it looked easier in comparison LOL), changed that to Liberal Arts, changed that to Marketing, finished up with Accounting! So I have my BS in Business (Accounting). And I did end up working in Accounting!

Well I spent the first two and a half years as a biomedical engineering major. Then I changed my mind and graduated with a Business Admin degree with a concentration in Accounting. Yes I use it. :)

I started as a BME major, too. I had thought I'd be premed, but I changed my mind pretty quickly.

I was a Math major/Music minor. I use Math everyday at my job, but not Music. My Music minor was more for my own edification than preparation for a future job.

You were a maths major? Seriously?

Yes, seriously!

I have a BS in Social Science and I work for a non-profit,

so yes I do use it......but in hindsight wish I had picked a more "lucrative" field.

They aren't kidding when they say "non-profit" lol

I majored in English, and was just a couple of credits shy of a minor in French. I have to say, so far the degree has come in handy in my daily life. I'm the proofreader of the office, and everyone comes to me for any grammar questions. I reallly wish I'd done something a bit more scientific or tangible so I'd have more lucrative options.

I also took one year of French Lit classes at the Sorbonne, but I ran out of money before I was able to finish the program, so I don't really get any credit for that. I'm thinking of taking some grad school courses in business, and maybe going back to get a bachelor's in French.

My worst problem career-wise is my indecisiveness. I have no idea what I want to do, so I'm enjoying reading this topic and will hopefully get some ideas!

I wanted to be a teacher and my major was biology and my minors were social science and Kinesiology. I decided I didn't like teaching so went into the Marine Corps who immediately put me in computers and I have been programming ever since. Hum, imagine that, the military put me into something I really loved

I started out majoring in music (like so many here, I see!!), but changed my mind and transferred to physics with computing. Unfortunately I dropped out half way through, so I'm now back trying to major in math and see what I can get for physics and chemistry. My ultimate aim is to teach high school math and maybe science, but it's a long way off :(

In college I double majored in Archaelogy/Anthropology and Welsh History.

In grad school I majored in Museum Studies with Minors in European History and Museum Administration.

Don't use the Archaeology/Anthropology or Welsh/Euro History much, but am now an Assistant Curator/Registrar in a museum so at least I am using something!

LOL

I was one of those lucky kids who was academically good at most things, so I had a really hard time deciding what to do at uni. Had I got the A-Levels, I was going to read medicine at Oxford - but alas. That's what having your teenage rebellion at 17 will do for you.

I've made a living playing music so I've certainly used those qualifications, and since I'm now in telecom, I use a certain amount of my physics and math. Oddly enough, probably the most useful things to me in my every-day life are my GCSEs in Graphics and Business!

Derekkj, that's really cool. You're the only Welsh History grad I've ever heard of!
