Hello! My 2019 tax return has still not been processed by the IRS, though it has been filed. The initial hold-up was that earlier in the year, I used the Economic Stimulus Payment online tool to request my stimulus payment, because I’d filed an extension for my 2019 taxes and they didn’t have my direct debit info.

That somehow gave me “non-filer” status according to the IRS, and I needed to jump through a few hoops before they would begin processing my 2019 return.

We’re now looking to upload our docs to the NVC. I can’t get a tax transcript until my 2019 return has been processed, but I CAN provide my 2019 return+schedules, etc.

My concern is that my 2019 taxes not being processed will somehow trigger a rejection or an error if the documents are reviewed by the NVC before the tax processing completes.

My IRS account lists my 2019 income as $1 currently (because of the erroneous non-filer status, I’m assuming) which is obviously incorrect, but I’m wondering if we should delay sending our documents in until my taxes process? We don’t want to delay if there’s no reason, but we don’t want to be rejected for a timing mistake.

Any help would be so appreciated!

I can't comment 100% on your situation but my husband had to refile (used Deloitte) as he was out of the country most of 2017/2018 and we waited till we got the documents. Have you emailed the NVC to see if they will except anything like payslips with the return+schedules? He basically had to pay Japan taxes due to his company sending him there on business.

I ask this as we had a 12 month delay waiting on the IRS, I'm not trying to panic you, just let you know our experience. We didn't ask the NVC, that's why I'm suggesting to contact them so you may be able to avoid the delay we had etc.....

Good Morning,

I just sent my W2 and 1040 and pay stubs and let them know briefly why I didn't have my 2019 tax transcript oh and a letter from work. I was approved

Phew, that’s reassuring. Was the reason you didn’t have your 2019 tax transcript that it wasn’t yet processed and available? I think that’s my main worry. That we’ll get an automatic “no” because the IRS hasn’t caught up. Especially since my online tax account is currently showing I reported an income of $1 in 2019 🤦‍♀️

Along with my 2019 return+schedules, etc., I’m planning on sending records of income payments into my account (I’m self-employed so don’t have traditional payslips) along with a letter of self-employment, my 2018 and 2017 transcripts, current bank statements, etc.

because of the covid and late filing my transcripts is not documented right now during my filing. I called and they sent a letter but no information because they haven't started on mine I guess. now I will get trying just in case they ask for it at the interview and then still if not available they will have the same information I was approved for and my husband will too. yes your 1040 and schedules any information that you can show you are able to support
