Hubby went in at 7:25 a.m. this morning and was out around 7:56. He said he passed through airport like security and showed the guard the confirmation e-mail and appointment letter. He said he then went to reception and they told him to sit and wait. After about 10 minutes (there were 2 people ahead of him) he was called up to a little window. He gave the worker his passport and it was stamped for 1 year. They kept his green card. The worker also wrote in his passport that the I-751 and N-400 are pending. When my husband asked about that, the worker said "don't worry about your cases, they're coming soon". Unfortunately, no further clarification was provided. Both cases should be at the field office, so fingers crossed will get an appointment notice before the end of the year.

Did they ask for any proof of emergency?

They didn't. When I called for the infopass I explained he would not be able to work without his license (which to me is an emergency) and he would also have issues with school. To be honest, the officer on the phone, didn't seem to interested regarding the reason. They just wanted to know that the card was expiring within 30 days.

Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview:9/18/19    Interview/approval:2/4/21. Card arrived:2/11/21

That's good the stamp is for 1 year.  So were you able to accompany your husband inside the USCIS office?  Or did you choose to wait outside? 
Btw, finally I got that confirmation email 10 days later.  I guess better late than never.

I was kind of hoping it would be for 6 months, because then it would give me some hope we would have an interview soon lol.

And you know what? I didn't even think about accompanying him inside this time, I just walked around outside.

Hahaha I agree. I was a little let down when I saw it.

I printed off the official document list from GA DMV website just in case they weren't familiar with it. But, he had no issues and he was in and out.

Oh you solved it, well done! I just confirmed this was the case for me too. I sent some feedback to USCIS about it.

I was about to come comment here to say that I was able to get to my appointment no problem with just the printed email and written down confirmation number and PIN. They expected me and I was on a printed sheet of appointments the second security guard had.

Hi, I'm going through the same situation now. Did you have any problems renewing your driver's license using the stamp in your passport?
