I am a USC applying for my wife and 2 stepchildren. My wife's case got to the NVC months before the kids. Her case was DQ'd and we are waiting for the interview date when finally the kids case is approved by USCIS and sent to NVC. We submit our docs only to get the following response today:

So my question is... Has anyone had NVC tell them they don't meet the minimum requirement when I make well above 150% of the poverty guidelines for my household size?

Many people have. Someone just posted earlier today. It would be best for you to find a joint sponsor; ultimately it is up to the embassy your spouse will be interviewed at.

Can I reply with a few of the other documents they asked for and tell them we will find a Joint Sponsor and submit what we have or should I wait until I find a Joint Sponsor before submitting all the documents they asked for? (They asked for a marriage cert and Job verification too)

I'm leaning towards replying with what I have and working to find a Joint Sponsor before the interview as long as they will move the case forward to the Embassy with my reply

The NVC notice is advisory at this stage.  As stated, it will be up to the CO at the embassy to make the decision.  Saying you "will" find a joint sponsor is useless - it will make no difference to your case.  Get a joint sponsor lined up with the additional I-864 ready.  If you case is not DQ'd by then, then submit the additional I-864.  If it is DQ'd, then send the joint sponsor's I-864 to your wife to submit during the interview.

What I can't figure out is how they said my wife was DQ'd with the same I-864 form and didn't mention anything about the income not qualifying. But somehow when the kids get to the NVC stage they bring it up. The I-864 has the income listed and it's more than enough. The kids coming to NVC would not have changed anything. All the information was in the moms application too. Just seems strange.
