I had a lot of trouble with the civil surgeons in my area. Even after explaining that his medical is still valid (it was just done in February) and that all we need is the vaccination info transcribed from one form to the other they still gave me trouble, and some were pretty nasty with me. The only one within driving distance willing to do it without a medical charged us $75 for it. She also did some basic stuff like pulse, listening to his chest, etc. "to make it look official", she said.

Yodrak (or Krikit),

Do you have a citation or a further explanation of this? C. had his vaccinations /titre done , so that information should already be on the DS-3025. It would save a gigantic headache if we didn't have to get the titres re-done for the I-693A. But the instructions on the I-485 seem to suggest that the vaccination supplement is required (though it does not state that it has to be submitted concurrently with the I-485.) It stands to reason that they wouldn't want the same information twice, but 'stands to reason' isn't a standard that I've found often applies.

I believe you, but I'd like to see it somewhere in writing before I check getting the supplement off of our list.

Krikit,

Thank you. Finally we get a correct explanation.

Vaccinations are not required of non-immigrants, so when they apply to immigrate K-visa people are asked to document their vaccination status. DS-3025 should suffice for applicants who did have their vaccinations completed with their visa application, but not all not all K-visa people do have the vaccinations completed for their visa application and USCIS (and VJ) people do not all have the same understanding as to satisfying the requirements for immigration.

Yodrak

Correct, the full medical was in that brown envelope left with the officer at POE, and is now at USCIS waiting for the AOS to be filed, that is why only the supplement is needed, K-visa holders can hold on vaccinations until after they arrive in the USA, and that is why the supplement is needed to be done.

Just to expand on the above...

SOME countries allow K non-immigrant visa holders to defer the vaccinations until after they arrive in the US, which is why they request the I-693A with the AOS submission. If the beneficiary's vaccinations were completed as part of the visa process, they are not required to submit the supplemental vaccination form because all that information is enclosed in the brown envelope. This is not to say that someone processing the I-485 will not request the information in an RFE. As we all know, not everyone employed by USCIS has the same understanding of the rules and regulations applicable to K-1 visa holders.
