do i need varicella

just wondered if i need the varicella vaccine i had chicken pox when i was young. I just noticed it going through my paper work. do i need this before i get the I-639 ?

If you had chicken pox as a child, you will not require the vaccination.

My husband had varicella as a child and he was told that he needed to get a blood test to prove that he in fact had had it. It was less expensive to get another varicella shot so he got it anyway.

My husband told them he had chickenpox and that was enough for them to mark it off. So I guess it depends on the doctor.

My hubby and son told them they had chicken pox (in my son's case, the poor dear has had chicken pox twice in the last year go figure) and that has sufficed - perhaps getting a note from your GP stating you had chicken pox would not be a bad idea if you are concerned.

Depends on the Doc really. For me, the Doc asked me if I had chicken pox as a child, I said yes, and he ticked the box. Some docs might be more ####### about it and ask you to prove it (blood test).

EDIT: I should note that Leney's husband and I both had the same Civil Surgeon.

My cousin had it twice.

My husband never had chicken pox though - so he had to get the vaccine. Figures it is the only vaccine not offered for free where he lives....hehehe.
