Yes,  may say wrong document

like when my lawyer sent copy of Morocco marriage (paper size is different in Morocco and they wanted the original)

that's just an example

they can say anything or just resubmit if it doesn't scan clearly

i used my iPhone 6 for scanning!

this is my original birth certificate and even the issuing authority are all correct according to the NVC guidelines, so I don’t know y they rejected!

Sometimes it is as simple as orientation.   Most likely using the phone you scanned landscape and not portrait.

YMMV

Also I wanted to know if there was a timeline/ time frame within which I have to resubmit documents at NVC that was rejected for IR1 case?

I would upload them asap. On the ceac website, there is a box on the right hand side of the page that say *Messages*. It may be a message there to explain  why they rejected your document. Goodluck.

They didn't start my process over; but, I did  not know at the time my husband police certificate was three pages instead of one. They added me back queue within days.

Probably can’t see all edges of the document take a picture of it on a black background then cut the photo so you can still see the black edge... NVC painful for rejecting docs

with ref to messages, push on the message box, when it opens it will look like no messages but give it a few minuets and it will show up... they’ve got terrible lag on their messages for some reason

12 month timeframe from when u last touched CEAC

I followed the RFE to messages given to me by NVC, and did not upload I-864A during the first RFE.

As a result, the second RFE asked me to upload I-864A again, so I was also confused about the standards required by NCV.

In addition, foreign spouses are required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, so I really still want to respond to this RFE.2.thumb.JPG.e44060854927d3e28f4485b2be4273e1.JPG2.thumb.JPG.e44060854927d3e28f4485b2be4273e1.JPG

So what was the reason given for rejecting your birth certificate?

Also just to be clear,

So my original birth certificate was rejected by NVC, reason given in the messages— it should be from the correct issuing authority.

mine is from the correct issuing authority from my country according to NVC guidelines for my country!

The only reasons I can think of is improper scanning or not having apostle.

but to get Apostle  is a hassle  because it needs to be sent to my birth country and I don’t know how long it can take with the courier and covid border restrictions!

My question is could not having an apostle be the reason for rejection because NVC reason for rejection is wrong!

or could it be a scanning mistake/like I could use a high resolution scan next time I resubmit?

please help!

thanks!

I understand the predicament you're in, especially during these trying times with the rampaging COVID-19 pandemic and border restrictions. I would suggest you try the following steps below serially to see if the issue can be resolved.

1. If you can, get someone from your home country whose birth certificate was accepted by NVC and make comparison yourself to see if you can spot any difference, if this is the case,  just skip step two and move on to step three below.

2. But since you're convinced you got it from the right institution, I would suggest you try to get an 'apostle' and scan properly next time, not just with a high resolution scanner but make sure all the borders in the aforementioned document is showing clearly in the scanned copy before you upload to NVC website.

3. If the above two steps failed, then I think it's only wise for you to just go through the process of getting another birth certificate all together and get it apostled before uploading to NVC.

I hope this help and that you're able to resolve this as quickly as possible.

What country? I know you said you checked but double check here- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country.html . NVC often uses the same generally vague type rejection messages you get with RFEs from USCIS. Its a computer system so from a computers POV if your document was blurry and unreadable it will respond 'you didnt send your document from the correct issuing authority' because yeah, technically you didnt.
