@Sarge2155 on top of these documents from your list, do we have to send documents proving our marriage is real or is that for the interview?

Also, do you know if BAH our TRICARE counts as public benefits?

I started filing some of the forms today.. most likely will have more questions soon but doing my best to research what I can!

The only  document you need to send to prove  your marriage is your license.  The rest you bring to your interview. Tricare and  BAH is NOT  a public  benefit.

Thank you!

Also, the SSO just called me and said that DEERS letter is not an emergency, that I need a letter from the health insurance company requesting SSN.

Now I already enrolled in TRICARE, and they did not ask for SSN. When we mentioned it, they said that DEERS would be the one dealing with it.

I don't really know how to get this letter from tricare

Do you have any advice? :(

Can you try another SS office?

I just did! there's two near us.

so one wants the tricare letter, the other one said I'd get a call in 2-3 weeks for an appointment.

The first lady acted like I was trying to deceive her when I said I had a letter from deers and not tricare.

She was like "we all here have military background so we know how things work" and the she's going to "trust me on getting the letter" but tricare did not ask for SSN at any time! 🤦‍♀️

we'll contact tricare but if that doesn't work I guess I'll just wait for the second office to call me for the appointment.

Alright, so I have a few questions some of them may be obvious but this is me atm 🤯

I-944 -

1.should I mention trainings that don't have certificates in occupational skills?

2. for the second question in A should I answer yes or no? (image below)

I-131

Do I have to write a intended date of departure or "unknown" would be okay?

I-765

About SSN, so I'm supposed to get an appointment to get a SSN within the next 3 weeks(but who knows what's going to happen). I was hoping to send my AOS before that. So what should I choose for social security card? Let's say I choose the SSN option and send my aos next week and the following week I'm able to apply for SSN. Would that be a problem?

any help would be much appreciated!

I'm nearly done with the forms, we're just having trouble getting the IRS tax return transcript (duh me forgot to make a copy of it before the k1 interview).

@CMT For the I-131 I left the date of intended departure blank, but that was September 2019 filing. They have since gotten chicken (you know what) about leaving boxes blank. My best recommendation to you is visit the September and August 2020 AOS threads and ask that question there to see what they did. That would help you make your decision how you wanted to proceed. USCIS has since gotten funny about leaving boxes blank on the forms. Since there are not many people that have filed here in October thread yet ( at lease here in VJ) you don't have that many people to pull knowledge from and I filed back in September 2019 things change so rapidly and I dare not give you the wrong advice or information. Visit the earlier AOS threads for this year your answer will be there. Check yes for the SSN block if you get it sooner great they will see it before they issue another one that is how it's supposed to work.

I might also add the I-944 was not required back when I filed so I have little knowledge of it just what I read here on VJ.

so lucky! I-944 is a painnn

and thank you, I'll ask people there!

so even if I check yes and I get my SSN before that they should be able to see it? I might just do that then!

I just didn't want to take the risk of having 2 SSN's issued (I read it somehow happened to a member before)

That  is a possibility it does happen, but that's better than not having one and it's a easy fix as you just turn one in to SSA.

Hello there! I am going to do my application this month. I already went through the majority of the forms but at this point there is so much confusion. I checked on USCIS web site and found out that concurrent application for 765 and 131 forms is not present anymore and that one has to file everything separately..And also there is a lot of confusion how it seems to me about I-944 some people include some don't , from what i get the official position as of now is it is not obligatory to file it along with I-485 because of the court decision?
Unfortunately I am so confused and literally stumbled upon 944 form, cause have to evaluate my diploma from school and university it seems and also to obtain credit score information

You can still file 485 + 765 + 131. No fees for the last 2 due to a judge decision. It can change at any time.

I-944 and 864 are mandatory as well.

Be sure to use the correct filing code of (c)(9) if this code applies to you. The I-485 instructions explains all the codes in detail. If you are filing under a different code (other than (c)(9) the fee for your AOS will not be correct and USCIS will reject your entire packet.

What are these codes..? I can't find anything about them anywhere on the 485 form or the instructions.

Look again on the instructions for the I-485 they are there! The instructions are on a separate document.
