The Michigan Supreme Court on Friday struck down a 1945 law that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) has been using to keep the state locked down since April.

Whitmer has repeatedly extended a “state of emergency” for the past several months and pointed to a World War II-era law to do so, most recently lengthening it until October 27.

She's mad she can't continue trashing her state hoping it hurts Trump's re-election chances. I really hope people in Michigan vote for better next time she's up for re-election.. it's not this year I presume? Or is she banking on the voter mess in neighboring states?

No, the gubernatorial election in MI will not be until 2022.  The people in MI tend to flip between the GOP and Dems for their governors every eight years, hopefully it will be different in 2022, as I don’t see a recall going anywhere.

Just an update from Gov. Whitmer.  Given her disdain for the other branches of government in the State of Michigan, I am surprised we are not seeing stories about how she wants to be a dictator, oh right, she is a Democrat.  I heard Governor Newsom wants people in restaurants to mask up between bites.

The Michigan Supreme Court on Monday ruled against a request by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) to delay the enactment of a previous court decision that determined she did not have the authority to continue a state of emergency amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

On Oct. 2, the court ruled that neither the state's Emergency Management Act (EMA) from 1976 nor the 1945 Emergency Powers of the Governor Act (EPGA) gave Whitmer the right to extend her initial state of emergency order past April 30. 

In a motion filed last week, Whitmer requested that the court allow more time before its ruling is put into effect so that there could be “an orderly transition during which some responsive measures can be placed under alternative executive authority and the Governor and Legislature can work to address many other pandemic-related matters that currently fall under executive orders.”

It's tough when one aspires to be a dictator.  I am so amazed by all the hand wringing from the Dems/Media about Trump wanting to be a dictator, as usual, it is another example of gaslighting by those groups.
