Weird how you have unhinged lefties rioting, torching buildings, looting, etc. across the country, directly and unequivocally threatening a vast expansion of violence and violent overthrow of the government should Trump be re-elected, and some people are worried about a military service member "breaking the law" because of a vague opinion about "resisting a coup". 

 

The attempts to invert threats in this fashion to distort reality (and make others believe they are the actual threat here by simply having an opinion) is what we call gaslighting.

I don't know how you define "court packing". Mitch has had 5 years to implement the will of the Heritage foundation in the lower courts and built a 6-3 conservative majority. If they expand the Court (it's constitutional) or replace retiring judges that is all the scope of Congress.

   I would have closed this thread 2 weeks ago when there was no longer any pertinent discussion to be had. Trump no longer has Covid. There is nothing left here except people trying to one up each other with snarky responses.

There is not an issue with off topic posts per se, but there is no reason to keep a thread open when it has been devolving for weeks and members are now discussing the level of violence they would be willing to use in a completely hypothetical scenario which has no relation to the topic.

So your recommendation is to close many thousands of threads here in VJ because they are no longer on topic?  Sounds like a monumental task, as evidenced by the thread that was closed yesterday that we hadn't posted in for years.
