I know for those that have heard the president be the largest source of disinformation on the topic of Coronavirus over the last 9 months, when the country needs a leader on this topic, throwing in quips about mask (non) use, it is what it is, and wash right through seem like pure poetic justice and a layup to easy to avoid. I even had a few queued up and thought better.

 

I am taking another tact on this topic. It is time for us to pull together and understand that the disease is nasty and fatal and puts our country at severe risk.

 

It is time for this virus to cease to be an issue that divides us politically and culturally. It's time to take this issue seriously and listen to the science and and medical consensus.  This sxxt is real folks, time to focus.

Y’all fold up.  I’d have sympathy if he hadn’t mocked masks 48 hours before he tested and hadn’t held a big fundraiser yesterday after they already knew he had been exposed by

someone with a positive test.  She flew back from the debate in quarantine. How thoughtless and irresponsible was it to hold a big event the next day.

 

No, no sympathy.

The time to pull together is regretfully expired.  Good post but this got old back in May.  

Deliberately exposing people at a campaign event yesterday is inexcusable.  Supporting that behavior is not going to work out.  That was deliberate.  Those people were never warned or told and they were entitled to that.

Not sure the blame should be laid on Hicks... no doubt in my mind that he was already ill at the debate on Tuesday. It was a visual thing I actually remarked about to several people. Shame to be right. More likely someone exposed him on Friday-Sunday. Keep in mind they also rely on a rapid test system that has a failure problem. All the people that are 'testing' negative now aren't going to do the 'brain poke' longer method route either. They could become infectious at any time.

 

I don't wish ill on anyone, no matter what sort of soulless being they are. But it is certainly predictable, it was only a matter of time. The current protocol is sloppy, he's surrounded by yes men, and like many he will not take it seriously. There is no excuse for the risk he put others at, but he is no different than anyone else that keeps doing this every day on a regular basis. You can't fix stupid. You can only hope a person learns from the stupid they did. Those that are exposed often go through an experience that does make them learn something indeed.

I cannot disagree with your point. Here is one process

Step 1. "How does this happen? Isn't there a system protecting those in the Whitehouse"

Step 2. "Oh yeah, I know exactly how this happened, these folks run around without masks and flaunt their power to avoid guidelines, I am surprised it didn't happen sooner. You think they would have learned from CPAC and Tulsa"

Step 3. "Ef these jerks, they don't notify anyone about Hope Hicks and then carry on with a fundraiser."

Step 4. "We aren't going to change anyone's mind about politics, what is really important? That people get real about this disease. Can we at the very least use this as a lesson? 

Step 5. "Looking at the response, probably not, this country is screwed"

It was something both my fiancé and I remarked upon where we were watching. He thought Trump looked like a jaundiced baby. I couldn't get over how sweaty Trump looked compared to Biden. He looked visibly quite unwell.
