You’re pretending dude.  Enough already.  Combinations of materials and droplet size efficiencies have been studied to death this year.  Real studies, building on studies during SARS.

I get vaccinated, and will get a COVID vaccine when available.  But I imagine there are those that have the flu without symptoms.  I also wear a mask when required, but fail to see the benefit of it if greater than three meters away from someone I will be around for less than a tenth of a second.  I also make sure I get plenty of Vitamin D.
 

The real culprits here is the medical community pharmaceutical companies that did not pursue a coronavirus vaccine after SARS and MERS became a thing.  There was plenty of time, but they dropped the ball and people died.

    Millions of people who thought Covid was a hoax are finally accepting it's a reality. It would be ironic if it was a hoax that finally convinced them of that.

  Well sometimes the media is right.

 

  It's healthy to have a skeptical approach to media information and use multiple sources and verify, but it's probably not a great approach to automatically dismiss everything you see in media and believe the opposite must be true. We have enough problems of that sort in this country as it is.

I've never been so fortunate.

 

  It happens. I never used to get the flu shot. IIRC, I was 29 the first time I got the flu. Felt like I was in perfect health that year and living in Hawaii not even thinking about the flu. It can take anyone down hard if the timing is right. Since then, I have not missed a year. The flu shot is infinitely easier to deal with than actually getting sick with a bad strain of flu.

 

 My point though, was if many people are getting a vaccine, it does decrease the risk of exposure for those who don't get it. There certainly are genetic components to how ill someone might get from the flu, but I wouldn't just chalk it all up to genetics. It is not spread around as much thanks to those who do get vaccinated.

I've gotten a flu shot maybe.. 3 or 4 times in my life. I've got the flu a couple times and one of those times was in a year I got the shot. The reason I rarely get it isn't because of its perceived accuracy but more prioritizing other things and laziness. I already know how to alter behavior to mitigate transmission to myself and others. 

 

Now I've gotten a norovirus before.. first time any illness caused me to go to a hospital. That's no joke.
