Hi everyone,

Glad to be joining your group. I  filled in 28th October 2021 and waiting for the  interview date. According to USCIS processing time, the completion of process from submission to oath should take between 14-19 months in my local office (Sacramento). As far as I understand this means 50% of applicants are expected to complete the process in 14 months. So if was lucky enough to be among this 50%, I should receive my interview NOA before November.

When I checked the processing time from the link below, it looks like it is longest in California (15-19 months). For Tampa, for say, this time estimation is about 6-15 months. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Good luck to everyone who is still waiting. Please share your experiences.

Had my interview yesterday at the Montgomery, AL office. I went in my military uniform and aside from the frost desk guard, everybody was super nice. There were two other military guys there.

The interview went smooth, except that apparently there was someone else's picture on my file, but it was quickly fixed.

The agent asked me that question: "The Federalist Papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers." and I responded with "Alexander Hamilton". Then we proceeded to geek out about Hamilton because we were both big fans of the musical.

I asked him if I was going to to do oath the same day, and he said he would have to confirm because with me being a Florida Resident I would usually have to do my oath somewhere in Florida because of some law on how Florida residents need a judicial oath. But he said because of the pandemic, Florida had temporarily waived this and he wasn't sure if it was still in effect because he had just gotten back from some time being absent from work. He got his answer and told me I would swear in that day.

It was a group swearing in which nobody recited the oath; the agent simply read it and we replied with I do and that was it.

I have my certificate and this Saturday I will be applying for my Passport. After I get it back from the state department I will head over to SSA to update my stuff, and also register to vote!

It was a long journey ever since my GC in 2014. Damn this was crazy. Now it's time to start all over again for my wife. 😭

  • 2 weeks later...

I haven't seen much from October filers, I guess most have already gotten past the process,  as for me, I'll be taking the Oath this Friday, Oct,8th. Good luck to those still going through it. This has been quite a journey.
