Called today after 140+ days of nothing.

The woman on the phone said they have reused my biometrics and that I should just wait for my interview to be scheduled.

She also said that it was being handled at the Montgomery office. This contradicts what they said on the email that it was being handled at the Birmingham office. That makes me think things are moving - or somebody gave me wrong info.

Naturalization (on basis of military service)

10/2/2020 - Mailed paper application to military specific Chicago Lockbox.

10/21/2020 - Text/letter receipt received.

08/11/2021 - Interview scheduled: Sept 14th.

09/14/2021 - Interview + Oath at the Montgomery Office.

I-130 (for my spouse)

09/23/2021 - Filed online.

09/29/2021 - Received receipt letter for I-130.

09/30/2021 - Filed I-129F through the mail.

10/12/2021 - Received receipt letter for I-129F.

12/17/2021 - AR Status change.

01/12/2022 - I-130 Approved.

01/13/2022 - I-129F Denied.

Here's a funny story for y'all to enjoy.

My friend is from Nigeria, and also on the military. We applied around the same time, but her stuff got processed faster and she had her interview today.

She passes the test and everything, but then the officer says that she can't get naturalized because her paperwork doesn't make sense and that she wasn't even eligible to file a N-400 in the first place.

Turns out her dad became naturalized when she was around 13 years old, which makes her a citizen automatically. Neither her or her dad knew that. So this whole time she was already a citizen walking around with a green card. She just doesn't have a certificate. So they told her to just file a N-600 to get that.

This is hilarious, but also a bummer. She joined the Air Force as a non-citizen which blocks us from getting most of the cool jobs. Also means we can't get stationed overseas as our first assignment.

Funny. I've heard some stories that the officer just in the interview has told them they're not eligible as they filed early and get denied. Also here is your story. Now I wonder, what kidn of processing exactly is done as the part screening process and background check when you file your application then? These are kind of issues which can be avoided very easily by just using a database and searching algorithm as being the basic data, but still happens.

Hi support group! Anyone knows if lawyers get oath ceremony notice?

Did you use the lawyers mailing address? You don't need your lawyer anymore at that stage I will assume.

Congratulation on getting to the finish line.....

Haha odd way to schedule the interview. Did the officer emailed you on your DOD email?

Hi just curious, i filed last October in Atlanta and it was accepted closing date said October 21 , I got letter saying my biometric would be reused and when I looked on website my closeing date says Aug 21. My 10 year green card runs out in November 21 along with my drivers licence. My question is should I reapply for my green card also so if this date is postponed I will still have a new green card so I can get my drivers license renewed. Dont want to spend the extra money if I dont need to and its getting close to time to apply for green card renewal.

Thx

Steve

I think you can still renew your driver license without renewing your green card
