U.S. Citizenship Eligibility Quiz (Form N-400)

Hey Everyone,

looking at the above questionnaire on the US Forms.com site you have to select Yes to say you spent 12months+ outside of the US or it says you are ineligible to apply?  Is this a glitch or am I missing something obvious?  I haven't been out of the US for more than a couple of weeks at a time since I moved here so my answer to that should be no.

Did you spend 12 months or more outside the United States with an approved 'Application to Preserve Residence for Naturalization Purposes' (Form N-470)?

I did select No, that's what makes me ineligible - If I select Yes, it adds other questions to the flow but then says I'm eligible.

Why are you using that site? You should only be using the USCIS forms from the USCIS site.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

I just followed through and selected “no” and it said I was eligible. That said, it’s not the official government site so I would steer well clear of it.

I thought I got directed there from one of the guides on here but could be wrong - I was just curious as to why it wasn't working as I expected.  I'll stick to USCIS from now on.

Thanks - Rob
