Hello,

I received rejections from Nvc and am confused. My mom I added as a household member of my step dads since they filed their taxes jointly. I received an email stating she isn’t my household member but my step dads and to add her as his household member, how do I do that? I’m so confused.

we are still waiting for my parents tax transcripts so I submitted my parents tax returns pages and w2s but they’ve been rejected as a transcript has been requested. Is there any way around this?

my husbands passport biographic page was rejected but no explanation as to why. We had submitted his new passport through email and received a response that it was accepted. So I don’t know why this one now says rejected.

how do you submit new documents?

thank you for all your help

Did your step dad sign an I-864 as your joint sponsor?  What affidavit of support forms did you submit to NVC?

Yes my step dad has his own i864 and signed it. I just realized I put my mom under me as a household member instead of my step dad. I didn’t know that was an option. Do I just move her 864A under my step dads and delete her 864a under me? Nvc said she qualifies as my step dads household member, not mine, since I don’t live with her.
And would my step dad sign her 864A under sponsor signature? Sorry I’m just in a panic

Yes, replace the I-864A with one signed by your step dad as sponsor and your mom as your step dad's household member.

I had signed the 864a as sponsor so now I have my step dad sign it. Ok got it!! Thank you so much!
they’re also asking for tax transcripts but because of covid we haven’t received them. Can I write a letter and say we should have them by the interview and they’ll accept?

one more question - how long will this now delay our case now that I have to resubmit documents?
thanks again!

Go ahead and upload a letter saying the tax transcripts aren't available yet and that you'll bring them to the interview.  Also, make sure to upload the latest W2s with all the schedules.

No guaranteed timeline for NVC processing, unfortunately.  Anyway, the bottleneck will probably be the wait for an interview slot in Dublin.

Thanks so much! Going to get that all in today. We’re waiting on my moms medical records to submit an expedite. Nvc said we need the records and the expedite would be with Dublin, not them, which I thought was odd.
going to call the Nvc once I get this all day in hopes they can give me an estimate on processing times for resubmissions.
im guessing I should delete the 864a under my name then and just have it under my step dads?

you’ve helped so much, I can’t thank you enough!

You're welcome!  Yes, there should be no I-864A under your name.  The I-864A should be listed under your stepdad.

It's not just print a new form with Dad's signature.  You need to enter the correct information as to who is sponsor and joint sponsor and the correct tax information.

I put my mom as household member under my step dad but it wouldn’t let me delete my mom under my name. I submitted w2s and proof of filing taxes and also stated my parents spoke with their accountant and their tax transcript should arrive within 2 weeks.
my moms birth certificate and my husband passport page were rejected with no information given so i resubmitted those. I had emailed his new passport to them and they emailed back saying it was accepted. But maybe I also had to upload the new one and that’s why it was rejected, not sure.
I hope this all works so we can move forward.
