N-400 before fee change

Hello all,

 

I was just curious, so I just filed today (literally 20 minutes ago) so that we could pay the lower fee. We were going to wait for the 5 year mark just to be able to provide less documentation, but with the fee change, decided to do it.

I should be good having filed today though right? It says it takes 72 hours for case information to show on the site, but they already billed my credit card for the $725.

 

Has anyone else filed quicker then they would have just because of the fee change?

2015-10-26: Told case is basically complete but that they are building my electronic file. Told there is no timeline for this.

2015-10-30 & 2015-11-13: Still told no update. Building electronic file still and no timeline.

2015-11-17: Case Complete

2015-12-03: Receive packet 4

2015-12-15: Medical

2015-12-18: Medical picked up results

2016-01-12: Interview - Approved!

2016-02-03: POE

Just got this status update in the portal....

"Your application has not been submitted. Although we have received your payment, you or your representative needs to call USCIS at 1 (800) 375-5283 in order to finish submitting your application."

 

Any ideas what this could mean?

My wife filed on a Sunday night and got the confirmation letter by email on Monday. 

Oh, the fees aren't going up. A federal judge blocked the increase. Don't sweat it!

Any idea if seeing this error message on the page now is normal? I am thinking not....

Doesn't look normal. Check it tomorrow and if it says the same thing then call. Since you just submitted it, it could be and temporary error message. Or, log back in and see if you can see anything missing

Yeah....I swear USCIS is like....stress in a bottle haha.

Thanks for the support. I tried logging out and back in and no luck. Least now I know the fees are not going up yet.

Just got a payment confirmation email and looked back and it now says I successfully submitted the form....so I guess just a weirdness for some reason.

Yeah, I thought the fee now was pretty expensive...so was waiting till we had the free income. But it going up so much...yeah. Mind you now that the judge has stopped it who knows what will happen.
