That is the "canned" response and not the usual reason, but maybe it is this time.

Did your wife work overseas at any time. If so, they may be waiting on a Police Clearance from another country.

No she didn’t work anywhere.  She only worked in the Philippines

did she get DS 5535 form?

We filed i130 in April of 2019 and in March of 2020 they transferred the application to Vermont SC from Nebraska SC, she lives overseas.

No criminal history or record for both, i personally think because i often travel internationally and almost positive it's because of me for some reason.

Her name is not common at all,  i even consulted an immigration lawyer and she said there's nothing to be done at this point but wait for the security checks to be over.

Question, if you travel internationally, do you have Global Entry?   I wonder if the Global Entry background check is shared with USCIS?  They are all part of DHS.

Off topic, but I highly recommend getting Global Entry if you travel internationally.  it includes TSA Pre for domestic travel also.  And generally spends up customs when returning from a foreign country.   As in often getting to he luggage claim area before the bags start coming out,  vs waiting in a long customs line.   Though i suppose if you use the Mobile Pass app on your phone, it might not be such a long line.

What does this mean? It’s been like this for a month. Howlong does these security checks take ? I don’t have a criminal record.

‘Your case is currently delayed because the required security checks are still pending. We cannot make a decision on your case until we receive the results of these security checks.’

I am having the same exact situation right now. My case was sent from Nebraska to Vermont. Also sent 3 times outside of processing times.  (september 2020 NOA1) I got same message you got from USCIS. We also travelled a lot of Countries and petitionary(my husband) has comman name. I do not know what would be the reason but I wanted to share. How is your case coming along? I cannot see your case timeline so I dont know if you guys received an update. If it is please share with us here and update on your timeline.

Good luck
