What does this mean? It’s been like this for a month. Howlong does these security checks take ? I don’t have a criminal record.

It can take a couple weeks to several months. Where is your wife from in the Philippines?

Did your wife work overseas at any time. If so, they may be waiting on a Police Clearance from another country.

These checks are for the USC.  Police clearance on the alien comes at the time of the interview.

YMMV

I agree, my wife never travelled anywhere before and we are in the same boat, it's been pending security checks since March 2020, hopefully yours will come faster.

Good luck

You only get the ds 5535 from the consulate.  The OP is still at the USCIS.

The i129f is primarily about the usc.  If it was about the applicant then why are police clearances required at interview?

what is in your background that might have prompted a transfer to Vermont?

YMMV

That is the "canned" response and not the usual reason, but maybe it is this time.

Nothing unusual.  No military "top secret " clearances or government agency clearances?

YMMV

The problem may not be specifically to do with you, either. If you have a common name (or even an uncommon name) that maybe you share with a criminal for example...they will need to investigate it thoroughly.
