Welcome to another monthly thread for those going through NVC

 

Please read everything below and refer to it throughout your NVC journey, whether this is your first month at NVC or your third.

Before posting questions, please read the wiki Saylin wrote on the NVC process here. Once you're done, read it one or two more times to really understand it ;)Don't forget to also read the official form instructions as well as USCIS and NVC's websites!

Yes this thread was created by our great Queen Saylin and the knowledge is still going forward. This thread I pray stays alive and well as many who have gone through the process or still going can chime in and help and assist.

If you're wondering about time frames, look at the fellow members right here in this thread! Study their signatures/timelines and make notes. VJ also has this awesome page. Use it! I sure did during my process .  That means if you are on this thread WE expect you to have an up to date timeline.

 

Current case file creation time:

This is the link to go to see what date they are working on. Follow  it says up to 6 weeks but recently that 6 weeks is about 4 weeks from approval at USCIS.
Once your case has been created, we will contact you with instructions on how to begin processing. Until your case is entered into our system, we unfortunately won’t have any information about your case.

Current case review time:

This is the link to see what date they are reviewing. Please allow up to three-weeks for NVC to review your forms and documents once we receive both the petitioner’s financial documents and the applicant’s civil documents. You must also have paid all required fees and submitted your visa application online. We will not review your file until we have received all of the above items

Good Morning, I have been searching on 2 things i need answers to 1. have 3 cases how do i notify to process all 3 at the same time. my husband was approved in july but i didn't continue with him waiting for our daughters to be approved they were just approved. I already paid everything and ready to load. 2. can i fill and submit the ds-260 for my family? my husband and i went over everything last night and it's good to go he's in haiti and the net is slow sometimes no power. Thank you in advance

1. Stop processing at NVC. Once you get welcome letter from NVC call them to marry up all petitions. Do not do anything further on his,  just wait.
2. No do not complete the DS-260 for him. You can't do it for the others until their case arrives and they get case#.

So just wait until the other petitions arrive.

ok that's what i figured and glad i stopped and waited. so that is why when i went to pay for the babies it said paid for the AOS and i just had to pay for their IV. ok so now i can continue all 3 now because their payment went through already. Thank ypu so much

We just received the email from the NVC, officially DQed ! Was not expecting this to go that fast, I guess the long wait is for the interview in Montreal. Will update timeline.

I have a few questions

1.What is the next step after the QD email ? Is this the Interview Letter months later or something else in between

2. Do I have to show anything if I travel to the US after being DQed ?

anyone can do it you can do it just remember you are answering questions as a beneficiary so questions apply to them but the petitioners section.

Hey why not expedite.I don;t are if you have a sore toe and need your spouse here. You never know. Montreal was already as you know months behind before COVD.

After DQ you are now put in your countries interview queue and there you wait until your time comes to be scheduled.

 

You from Canada I don;t think Canadians show anything but it might be nice to have DQ letter and NOA2 just in case they might think you are coming to adjust status.

We will wait for our interview, I really have a great job in Montreal so we are not in rush. Also we are both in Canada, living together, which is why we don't mind waiting. Thanks 😃

Thank you so much I did all 3 Friday in the morning my case was completed that afternoon.  Thank you so much for your help
