Yes last week they went into a 6 week lockdown, due to end in the beginning of December. They aren't currently scheduling anything and sent cancellation notices to everyone scheduled after the lockdown started.

The Embassy indicates that they intend to start rescheduling interviews starting in December when the restrictions are lifted. However, for people who had an interview right before lockdown, they are continuing to process the paperwork. We were lucky enough to get an interview the Friday before the lockdown and just received the Visa today.

This was immeasurably helpful. I can handle another month or so of waiting for the date I guess, its disappointing and disheartening but given the rest of this year, 6 weeks or so ####### all. If they start scheduling right away after it's done then fine. Thank you!

What about cases when you need scheduling your appointment yourself - DFC and expedited? Do you happen to know if they’re able to do so?

Are you still at the NVC stage?  How were you able to get the medical completed without your interview letter/email?

I've seen on this forum that applicants in Philippines usually finish their medicals before contacting the embassy, requesting for an interview appointment

Glad to help! And if you embassy indeed pauses interviews, I hope you get scheduled soon after they resume!

I'm not sure in this case. I've definitely seen during some of these shutdowns that the embassies don't do expedited cases. Unless it's a dire emergency, I'd think that if your Embassy pauses interviews that they won't allow scheduling of appointments until they resume services after restrictions are lifted. I do hope I'm wrong though and that your case is able to progress!

No. After we expedited we received an email from the embassy asking if medical was completed and to reply once done for interview schedule.

Ok I see it is different for the Phillipines.  For Guyana the medical can't be taken without a scheduled interview.

Our process has just been beset with delays already so what is another one. I’m a little cynical though and think the lockdown could be extended. It’s always ‘another month’ but so many deadlines have been smashed I’m at the stage where I’ll believe it when I have the visa in my passport and it’s been stamped by CBP at the airport and I’m admitted. Until then I’m just going to be all disappointed that it’s been going on 6 years now of long distance. Frankly I’m sick of my life being on hold.

I will never pretend to know exactly what you’re going through because of course each of our relationships are different and have their own added challenges, but if you do ever want to chat and vent with someone who may be able to understand a little, just drop me a little message 😊

Hang in there! My husband said yesterday, ever the optimist that he is, ‘remember, this is all temporary and we’ve got the rest of our lives together to look forward to’

You and your lovely wife have got the rest of your lives together so this painful beginning will be a distant memory soon. Keep holding on to each other and cherishing each other.

I received my  interview appointment letter on Monday, 26th and had the medical exam on 27th. I checked CEAC status today, 29th and it shows my case had been updated (29th). What could that mean?

Remember they are preparing for your interview also. Every time someone touches your petition the date gets updates. Could be investigation information, background checking and thing nothing to e concerned about.
