Congrats Jen!

I know you've been watching Dublin closely - how soon are you seeing people get interview appointments after the embassy reaches out? We aren't in Ireland at the moment, and will need to return for the interview + do the medical examination. On that subject - would you happen to know if we can do the medical examination in a different country (at that country's approved medical physician)?

Thank you!

I've seen people DQd in July have interviews scheduled for November. However, I also don't feel like the Embassy really started scheduling interviews until September, so I don't think there was much of a backlog. In pre-Covid times they were only processing about 30 IR-1/CR-1 Visas a month so not a huge number to begin with.

If they keep up the pace, I feel like you'll probably get an interview in less time than I did. The NVC sent us our email with the interview date and it gave us about 3 weeks notice. The Embassy followed up a couple days later with additional info and a list of documents to bring.

I looked online for an answer to your medical question. All of the info says to do it at the location approved in the country where you have your interview. I'm sure someone has had a situation like that though, so maybe posting elsewhere will get a more definitive answer. When we called to book, they scheduled us for the following week.

Keep in mind, Dublin Embassy is requiring people who are coming from out of the area to isolate for 14 days prior to the interview, so you will need to make sure you arrive with enough time to achieve that. I don't think the medical had the same requirement so possibly you could get it within that 2 week period.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks for the detailed response!

Yes, I saw the 14 day in-country requirement - as you said, if we are able to get the medical within that time frame, getting an interview date that's 3 weeks out would work fine. If they don't give us enough advance warning (3 weeks) we'll need to reschedule the interview - would you happen to know how difficult that tends to be? I'd like to think they would accommodate during these crazy times. Finally, how long after approval could we expect to get the visa in hand?

Yeah I'm really not sure. My husband lives in Dublin so we were happy to go along with the dates we were provided. He said it was pretty empty inside though so if you had to reschedule it could take a bit, to allow for their reduced scheduling to social distance. I'm guessing they only schedule a couple people a day, although maybe they leave room for exceptions like yours.

Also an option if you get less than 3 weeks notice and/or can't get the medical in time, they can still do the interview and then you just don't get the final approval until they receive the medical. I think they still take your passport though if you are otherwise approved so you couldn't leave Ireland until it all finalized.

As for how long it takes to receive the visa, the paper husband was given says to allow 15 business days, but there was someone on here who got approved on a Tuesday and received it by that Friday. Since our interview was on a Friday I don't expect any progress happened this weekend. I'll post when we receive the visa in hand, so you should have a better idea after that! I definitely feel for you having to try to figure out how to schedule this all to make it work!

Hello everyone, my husband got his interview date today for November 2nd. Our category is CR1 and PD August 2019. Visajourney has been the most helpful source for us in this journey so I wanted to share the news here. Thank you all and please keep us in your prayers that his interview goes well. 😊

Congrats!!! I saw on your timeline that your case was expedited. How long did it take for the embassy to contact you after CEAC showed Ready? Or did you go ahead and schedule the interview without an interview letter? I'm still waiting to hear from the embassy so I would to know what to expect. TIA

Hey, thank you. My case was received by embassy in August 30 and I emailed them the next day to request for interview date. They told me to wait as they'll let us know once they have slots open. The embassy in Bangladesh has been doing the process differently and won't let any expedited cases schedule their own interview unless they approve it. Ours got approved yesterday and we chose the earliest date available which was November 2nd. I'll pray that you'll hear something soon from your embassy 😊

Heyy guys! We had our interview today and got passports with visas already. Embassy in Warsaw. They didn’t ask us any of financial documents or evidence of relationship. Only civil documents. Interview passed in good way, but woman asked us a lot of questions 😆😆😆. She was kind and friendly. I wish everyone here will also pass easy interviews. Best of wishes.

CONGRATS!! And that's great that you were able to get your passports with Visa back the same day! 🎉

Hi!  Haven't been on in a few months - any word on the Juarez consulate opening for regular visa appointments?  DQ'd August 2019.

Hey there @Clarebear! Unfortunately no news about CDJ reopening yet for regular interviews, they are working on expedites and second interviews.

A couple of days ago @Juliet57 shared this Consulate announcement (more of the same and nothing new): https://mx.usembassy.gov/embassy-consulates/ciudad-juarez/visas-2/visaprocessingOct2020/

Also, the non-esential travel restriction was just extended until November 21st.

We need to keep waiting (DQ'd May 2019).

Thanks for the info. I sent the embassy an email too and they sent me what seemed like a generic response that routine visa services were suspended. Hopefully I'll hear from them soon. All the best in your interview 🙂

I had the same issue with my police cert and had to get it updated with my name as it appears on my birth cert. They had the new one sent out to me within a week of applying. We also had to update our marriage cert to the long form as it needed to include our parents details on it.  I'm also in the same boat with regards to the embassy and the government restrictions changing, my interview is scheduled for next Friday.

We requested a new cert today - thanks to you and @JenIE for the advise. Hubby and I are pretty anxious to see what happens with our interview following tonight's announcement re: Level 5. Please let us know if your interview on Friday goes ahead. I'm praying the Embassy stays open and we can all be reunited with our loved ones soon.

I know I've seen other people worry about the status of their Visa processing, but now it seems I'm one of those people!

We had our interview on Friday morning, and now it's Tuesday and the CEAC tracker still shows our status as "Ready". Should I be worried that it hasn't changed to any of the processing statuses yet?

NVC said they are sending the file immediately to the Embassy on 10/15/2020.  However, the status still says 'at NVC' ...does that change immediately or it takes time?  Also, if anyone knows ... expedited...does that guarantee an interview within 4 weeks or is it dependent like everything else embassy by embassy?  I'm getting antsy lol
