Huge debt and Form I-944

Hi guys,

I'm preparing my form I-944 and evidences, but I'm facing a big concern.

I believe that most of my evidences are fine, such as household income, savings account statement, health insurance, English certificates, even my credit score is still good at this moment.

I also would like to mention that my AOS is for employment-based.

So, the only problem I still have a huge debt.

My wife got pregnant last year and lots of emergency issues happened.

I was self-paying and I couldn't afford all bills, so today after one year I still have many bills waiting to be paid with Debt Collector agencies.

I'm really freaking out that all my good evidences could be ignored because of this huge debt and at the end my AOS could be denied.

Could anyone give me a advice?

What should I do?

Thank you so much.

Are you the beneficiary or petitioner?

An employer sponsored you for a green card, but health insurance was not included with the job?

Actually, I don't have sponsor or job here yet.
All my income come from my country.

I'm self-petitioner and my AOS is for an EB2-NIW approved 2 months ago.

I've just sent my AOS (without I-944) last month.

So, I'm preparing it because we know that USCIS is gonna request soon.

What status are you adjusting from?

So your wife was a F1? But did not have Insurance. NIW does suggest high earning potential, submit your plan to settle your debts?

Correct. She was F1, but at that time she didn't have insurance.

Thanks for your answer.

I was thinking something like that.

Explain in which circumstances the debts came (like really emergency) and what would be my plan to fix it after I get a job.

I was not sure that it's gonna work, but I have to try because I don't have many options right now.

You can always explain a futuristic idea plan of paying back the debt overtime but don't expect it'll always be the same 100% unless you are lucky to do that. There will be some hiccup along down the road here and there so you'll have to make a little plan for that too.

For interesting community post, put together, and plan and the outcome, I tend to look in Reddit's PersonalFinancial sub and find many ways to accomplish that. You can scout for days and weeks and come to a mighty plan.

It would be a option, but if I do that I would spend all money I have for future emergencies and I would have more reasons to be considered a public charge in the future, maybe?
