Does anyone know if this is correct and if the USCIS backtrack their dates like this on a frequent basis?

Earlier today the California case processing was at 5.5-7.5 months and on 9 October 2020 as the case enquiry date... and now it suddenly moved backwards to 6-8 months and 24 September 2020 case enquiry date?

Is this normal?

Yeah that's been happening. They update the processing times once a month, so it looks like things are slowing down compared to last month 🙁

Pretty normal. they have been changing it every month. I think when i filed it was 9-13 months. then it went to 6-8 and 5-7 and now back to 6-8 months. Also with summer approaching, im sure everyone will be trying to take a vacation.

Oh my goodness 😔 How does one survive this waiting game. I am keeping my hopes up that the time does not get stretched out any further for all of our sakes, because we all have to deal with the same frustration. I swear it feels like someone is gambling with my life lol 🙈

We filed on the 30th of October 2020.

We probably wouldhave filed earlier if covid and the lockdowns did not come around🙄

And you ?

New week new data. I added a new column for the weighted percentage remaining.  All it does is say what percentage of the row constitutes those in total waiting for their case to be accepted.  It's just a function of The total cases in the row (per 500 case batch) divided by the total number of cases in the month; multiplied by the percentage of people waiting for their case.

Was just feeling it could provide some additional insight, though all it really says is that the groups with the highest case density are the ones waiting the longest.

This is just a random, post work, post last cup of coffee during work guess.  But going by this chart posted in the SEPT post, I am thinking they are focusing on September to knock these numbers down more.  Maybe some of the RFEs were returned finally and they are going through those.  So the timestamp changes becuase they have to process through.  This is just me brainstorming.  It still does not seem like much hope, but it might be quicker for them to go through if they arent original petitions waiting for approval and instead RFEs waiting for approval.  And maybe the originals arent 500 pages long either.  Stay strong!

Also remember the processing times reflect 6-8 weeks ago. 6-8 weeks ago they in the middle of September and really taking it slow particularly because of all the RFE's. I hope it is just a reflection of that. They seem to have made a fair bit of quick progress through October.

Yes!  Positive!  I definitely was not thinking that but thank you for the reminder.  I remember reading this over and over before and when my petition was sent to the lockbox.

Quick question😊 for the passport pictures did you send 2 of your fiance and 2 of yourself or did you only send 1 passport pic for each of you?

Also, congratulations 🎉 praying your NVC and Embassy stages go by quickly
