Received an email from NVC today that my case is in transit to embassy.

Congrats!  The US embassy in Vietnam must be open for business, unlike the Manila embassy.

Do I understand this correctly and is this what we think it is? That they’re forwarding our case to the Sydney Consulate?

It means that your case is available to be shipped to Sydney but if Sydney is not processing visas and is closed then it will remain at NVC until such time as they open and ask for the cases that are at NVC.

Case status has been updated to "Ready"

image.png.166942085ab04d63cb0098f5f56c2ed8.png

but email from US Embassy (Warsaw, Poland) is :

"Thank you for your correspondence.
Unfortunately, we are not able to process your fiancee’s case at our post as the March 11 Presidential Proclamation (PP9993) bars you from traveling to the United States if you process your case in Warsaw. We are not even permitted to process K visas if the applicant promises to spend 14 days outside of the Schengen area before attempting to enter the United States.
We suggest you try to find a post that is not in the Schengen area."

Is it really possible to move the case to another country? Did anyone tried?

It's only possible if you are a resident of that country. There have been other embassy's in the Schengen area that have given K-1's and they traveled out of the Schengen area and quarantine for 14 days prior to flying to the US.

You may want to find others from your country or region and discuss your options.

Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about three-fourths of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

Choose DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and you will be on the right sight for your inquiry.

Site seems down today?    hey i am not normally the grammar police but my gun has a sight but this site https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx  is broken..  I thought we checked  immigrant?

from the PDF

8. Tracking your case
As a K1, when checking your case online at CEAC.state.gov, you must select an "immigrant
visa" as it is treated as such, even though it is a "non-immigrant visa." Technically the K-1 is a
non-immigrant visa with the intent to immigrate, but it's treated like an immigrant visa because
of the AOS.

The problem is you are not starting from the first page but are on a page that may have not been one of the three choices and not the one you want. If you used the link from someone else that explains it. They were having problems and now you are. Use ceac.state.gov and choose DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application

How long were you apart?

Not many bowhunters I know have more patience than me.  But unless you have experienced this you cant understand.

NOA2: Oct 15

NVC email our petition was sent to Abu Dhabi embassy: 12/08

Checked https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/ today and it's ready! No P3 email yet however.

I was able to go to https://ais.usvisa-info.com/eand begin scheduling the interview.

Immigrant > K1 (received letter from embassy)> entered ds-160 confirmation number and NVC case number > proceeded to courier selection followed by payment. I stopped here because these questions came to mind.

When obtaining police clearance from Abu Dhabi police will she need the letter to obtain? Will she also need the letter to get her medical records? Checking here https://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United Arab Emirates&cty=Abu Dhabi the p3 letter is required for the medical. Went here: https://ae.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/ and emailed AbuDhabiIV@state.gov regarding the P3.

Don't do anything in advance until the case is ready at your embassy and the embassy sends you an email to the petitioner to follow these steps for scheduling your interview, Medical exam, police clearance etc.  Usually takes about 2 months to receive. If you schedule before being contacted by the embassy there is a particularly good chance you will be removed from the schedule. So, sit tight till you hear from them. In the meantime, time review the P3, link is below, and gather your documents and any police certificates that may be required of you.

You should go to your sub-forum website here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/97-middle-east-and-north-africa/ and here is a recent thread for some who are processing a K-1 and their recent experience (see below).

Also, more info here from your portal http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=United

A wealth of information on this thread

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Called NVC and Case# was given today... The US Embassy Manila has had over 10 months now to figure out a way to safely conduct K1 interviews in the era of Covid.      I can only imagine the floodgates opening when they finally do resume routine K1 interviews.. People stalking the appointment scheduler website like vultures.    lol

Received an email from NVC today that my case is in transit to embassy.

My case went to first “Ready“ on Dec 10th then got a second “Ready” on Dec 16th, but I still haven’t received the “welcome letter” from NVC.  Should I be expecting a welcome letter in the mail? I have not scheduled the interview yet as I know Vietnam requires the beneficiary to receive packet 3 before we can schedule the interview.

Thanks. I only received an email with a letter indicating it was being sent to embassy but not the official welcome letter with the case# and invoice ID.
