I called NVC last Monday as well and got our case number, The rep was far more helpful and informative than I thought he would be,  I asked how soon the case file would be forwarded to the Manila Embassy, and he said the Manila embassy is currently not processing K1's, BUT the good news is, K1's are next in line to be processed and although he couldn't provide a number of days or weeks, he said it will be "very soon" and quote "that's good news"   He read back my email address on file and said I'll be receiving a notice from them with instructions as soon as it's forwarded... As long as the ball is moving downfield, I'm good with it :)

last week I called NVC, they told me my file has arrived and she gave me my case number and  she said i should soon get an email. She also mentioned Saudi Arabia consulate are accepting k1 visa. We went ahead did the DS160 form. now I'm waiting for the email or letter to make an appointment for medial and interview. Now my question is can I schedule medical exam with the case number or I have to wait for the letter or package to be mailed to me first.

Your question is embassy specific. SA requires the appointment letter from them before you are able to schedule your medical. Your embassy states the following from their P3 letter:

Medical Examinations In order to complete the Immigrant Visa application process, all applicants must receive a medical examination from one of the US Embassy-approved panel physicians. Applicants must present their appointment letter found below to the physician.

Before you can schedule you must have an appointment letter from the embassy. Also, in the SA P3 letter it states that you must do the following:

When you have obtained all the items which apply to you as noted above, DS-160 confirmation page(s) (and any eligible children applying for K-4 visas) and two photographs (5cmX5cm with background) page with a copy of your passport(s) to the Embassy via SMSA courier service.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

We've had the DS-160 in since Nov 2, and I was only able to get the case numbers from the NVC by directly calling them at the numbers listed here. (Thanks!) In that time I haven't gotten any kind of recognition from the NVC. We've paid the fee for the interview. Others say the embassy is not processing visas, but there are flights going in and out of the Philippines. I'm just sort of dreading that I've forgotten something since I'm not getting any feedback about the situation from official sources.

As I stated earlier in my post, NVC directly informed me 10 days ago that thee Manila embassy IS processing Visas, they just weren't processing K1's at the time that I called,  He did however inform me the Embassy would begin processing K1's soon, and that it's next in line, Leading me to think that other types of Visas are taking priority right now,  perhaps due to under staffing at the embassy, that's my guess.

On another note, What interview fee are you referring to?  Theirs a affidavit of support fee and a Visa Processing fee, but I thought neither could be paid until you received the instruction email from NVC,  ???

Everything you need to proceed is on the embassy website. Also, check to see if your embassy is processing visas and which ones. If your results return 999 that indicates that they are still not processing that visa type. Your mileage may vary.

You need to be with "your own kind" in the subforum for the Philippines where others can shed light from their experience and boots on the ground feedback.

You should be a part of the conversation. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will better prepare you for your interview.

looking at packet 3 list for Thailand. it says I need a copy of prior marriage certificate and divorce decree?  Do they really need marriage certificate ?

I read somewhere that for K1 you dont need to pay for DS160?  but my SO tells me I am wrong on this... she worries when I dont know all the exact things... I just tell her if when we hit  send on  DS160 if it says pay we pay if not no big deal..

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES: Both the petitioner and applicant must present legal marriage certificates for all prior and current marriages.

TERMINATION OF PREVIOUS MARRIAGES: If either the petitioner or applicant were previously married, they must provide proof of legal termination of that marriage (e.g. death certificate of spouse, final divorce decree or annulment

A marriage certificate can be garnered at your county courthouse in the county that your precious marriage(s) were executed.

I'm not sure why that post is hidden?  I have to hit my last post to read it?

Just to clarify  2 things,

I send beneficiary a copy of the I-134 and she sends  it in her packet 3?

And I send her a copy of the I-129 for her to take to interview just in case?
