She went to her interview today and was told by the consular she is approved. She didn't receive any slip with the determination. Checking https://ceac.state.gov/CEAC/ it went from ready to Administrative Processing. I believe this is natural progression but she's worried that we're gonna get stuck after looking up what it meant online. He didn't ask for any of the additional evidence she brought with her and even returned the photos I sent them back when they issued an RFE. What do you all think?

You are seeing all the signs of an approved visa.

1. They told her she was approved.

2. They kept her passport

3. They didn't issue a 221(g) Request for Evidence (RFE) at the interview

4. Ceac has moved to AP

5. These are all signs that I outline in my PDF on the first page first post of this thread.

That's what I think. Now please join me in a little :pop:

my fiancé also had an interview, and they kept the passport & took fingerprints. he provided all the documents. nothing was missing, but she asked for only one document which the officer want to see petitioner.  Original divorce decree. (gave him 221 g form mention require additional document) this was not mentioned on the paper, if it had mention p3 i would have send it to my fiancé along with Affidavit support. I mailed them the Original documents within two days, and they updated on the NVC status they have received it. Now I'm waiting for their process to complete and issue visa. only concern is visa expire soon end of the month and what to do? Now I am in contact with them via email. Looking forward to positive response. 🙏 praying

Are you checking CEAC.state.gove under "immigrant" with your case number? If so, what is your status. BTW NVC has nothing to do with your case at this stage as you have interviewed with your embassy. The only responsibility has for a K-1 visa is to assign a case number and move the file along to the embassy when the embassy either asks for it or they are open and adjudicatiing visas.

Hello,

The US Embassy in Georgia currently is not processing any type of visas. They confirmed that they have received all of my documents and I should wait for doc. list(p3) from them(waiting time up to two months). According to what I read on guideline pdf file and from people's comments, I should just wait until I get the package from the embassy or is it better to ask my fiancée to prepare financial docs already?

On my approval notice is expires on 2/27/2021 what does that mean ? I’m think this is my visa approval notice ??? I’m confused maybe I’m misunderstanding

Your visa does not expire until such time as it has been issued. It's part and parcel to having a driver's license expire before it's even issued. It just can't be true.

Here is an explanation. You have applied for US Visa and received 221g Administrative Processing for your case, you would have checked your visa status on CEAC website. When you check the status, you used to see status of “Administrative processing”, but that would have changed to “refused” from March 3, 2020. Many users have reported and its verified as well that most of the 221g Cases status has changed to “Refused”, even when there was no real update on their ‘Case Last Updated Date’ or anything has changed. One key thing to note is the text under it has changed. It reads like below now.

“A U.S. Consular Officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application. For more information, please visit U.S. Consulate General <Consulate name>”

Pay close attention to the bold text, it basically tells that, if you were given Administrative processing, then it will be processed in administrative processing.

Follow what is in this document until such time that your embassy issues any other documents outlining the procedures. This is what others have received and are using for your embassy.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Visa Payment System information:

There is indeed a cash pay option but i wanted to do it online so i clicked on the "provide feedback" option and explained my situation and they said to wait 24 hours as well! Here is what they said about the cards: "In addition, please note that our payment gateway is set-up to process the following branded cards:

1. VISA Debit

2. VISA Electron

3. MasterCard Debit

4. Maestro

Just because a card is branded with VISA/MasterCard does not automatically mean it is a debit card. Many of the refusals we have seen are V/MC branded Credit Cards which we never accept.

In addition, there are several domestic debit card schemes that are available in the region. Each of these card schemes must have the following features to be accepted online:

1. Co-branded with VISA/MasterCard(Maestro) – i.e. they must have one of these logos on the card.

2. Contain a CVV number (this is the three-digit number on the back of the card).

If they do not have both these features, they will not be accepted. "

I usually update my profile as new information comes in. I would love to be helpful to this community as it has been immensely helpful to me. Thank you for your continued assistance!

My question is on your pdf file you advise us to fill in ds-160 when we get case number, but when I spoke with the embassy representative they strictly advised against it? Is this something common or is it because of coronavirus situation?

I don't know the reasoning behind the embassy telling you not to complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application as it is a document that stands alone and is used for adjudicating purposes at the interview. They do not have access to it unless they have the barcode so it's up to you what you want to do. There are many who fill it out once they receive their case number from NVC and have had not one problem with their embassy. My advice is that you can do either fill it out or not fill it out. Neither will have a influence at the time of the interview. Keep in mind if there are any changes between now and the interview, you will have to create a new DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application or update the added information at the interview.

What does this status mean? We have already filled out the DS-160 online and submitted a while ago. Case status just shows "At NVC"

Thanks!

I'm depressed today due to such long wait times.  Fiancee in Bangkok saw someone in her K1 facebook page who called BKK consulate and they said that NVC has not sent any new cases since March.  And since we have a  NOA2 in October I must accept that it could easily be 12 more months.  We've been apart for 12 months as of last Thursday and it's looking like mid to late summer before I would get a vaccine shot.   2 years that get a future wife a Visa is a disgrace on the face of America.

I can't seem to find the Thailand specific forum so I can cry with others from the same consulate.

I will try to keep chugging along.

Hello, I wanted to let you know that I feel your pain. My fiancé is also from Thailand and I am expecting NVC to assign my case number next week.  I contacted them last week and they also confirmed that there are no new petitions being sent.  My lawyer said this is driven by the Department of State and not the consulate.  But I find this hard to believe when a neighboring country of Vietnam processed over 100 K1s last month compared to 32 in Thailand.  I am drafting a letter to the consulate.  I want to point out the lies on the Department of State website back in August that they will be processing K visa types with high priority.  I want to point out how we in the US have learned to adapt with COVID with a disproportionately high number of cases compared to Thailand, while they announce closure or reductions every time a minuscule amount is identified.  Finally, I want to mention that they are sending a message to petitioners that they need to pay attorneys $2,000 to be added as plaintiffs in the Milligan v. Pompeo case in order to get scheduled for an interview.  The 2nd round of plaintiffs were officially added this week and were instructed to start notifying the NVC and consulate on Thursday that they are plaintiffs in the case and want their case expedited.  I know there are some with fiancé’s in Thailand so the consulate has been seeing these emails by now.
