This is a question about the K-1 visa interview. Does a sponsored fiancé have to do the interview in their home country if they don’t currently live there?

Interview will be in the beneficiary's country of residence listed in the I-129F petition (assuming they have proof of resident status accepted by the consulate).

Either country of residence or country of nationality

check requirements for the criminal reports (one is needed definitely for her country of birth)  other country depends on how long fiancee has lived there

Only if lived there after the age of 16

 

• Police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for six months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)
