Hi,

I am the beneficiary from England, my fiancé lives in LA and he wants to move home soon to further in LA. We have the i-129f packet ready to send but we don’t want to delay the process if my fiancé decides to move. So do you recommend we don’t send the packet yet, he moves first, then puts his new address on the I-129f and then send? Or should he wait until he receives the NOA to move then he can change the address? Or does it not matter when he moves? (Where he lives now if needed could also still be the mailing address as it’s his friends house) We just want the process to be as quick as possible. Also how long does it take to receive the NOA right now - is there delays due to corona?

Thank you! :)

There is no need to wait to file.  Might as well get into the long queue sooner rather than later.  He will have plenty of time to change his address with USCIS.  When you say 'move home,' do you mean to his parents' home?  Because even if he is not sure when or if he will move back there, he could use that address as a permanent mailing address so that he doesn't miss any USCIS correspondence.

Seems like NOA1 is taking 2-4 weeks presently.

He currently lives at a friends house

so he is moving somewhere alone. And so if we send off the I-129f with his current address, can we change the new address at any time? Thanks for ur help :)

Yes, you can.  I believe the NOA1 even mentions how to do that, and it is definitely on the USCIS.gov site.  Once you have the NOA1, you won’t expect to receive any mail from USCIS for > 6 months or so.
