Yes that’s the purpose. But it actually turned out whoever’s case got transferred worked out quicker.

Oh wow, that would be pretty awesome.

Does anyone know what time of the month uscis normally updated their processing time?

Because it seems like it's not changing.

My personal opinion is that even though they will update it, it’s not reliable processing time at all, not even including pandemic, presidential election and other 100 million things affecting their process.

So today my case status went from received to "transferred to a new jurisdiction", anyone know what this may mean?

That's actually good. Either of two things will happen:

1. Within a short period of time, the case will be approved without you not having to go through any interview.

2. You could also receive an appointment letter for an interview which will depend on your receipt number.

What's your receipt number prefix? Does it start with EAC, LIN, SRC or VSC?

I saw a couple of weeks ago in FB group someone who applied for ROC in the beginning of October received the same notification about the case being transferred. Then a week later, case status changed to Fingerprints Were Taken, and today they received their card. 2,5 months! Service center was SRC, transferred to NBC

Hopefully, you will get your 10-year card as a New Year present. Maybe we are being rewarded for our patience during AOS, lol? Good luck!

Interview Waiver:

Your receipt number is a determinant of whether your I-751 interview will be waived or not.  Read further in the link below.

During this session, the speakers explained the circumstances under which Forms N-400 and I-751 may be pending concurrently, clarified USCIS’ current processes when handling and adjudicating these concurrently pending forms, and allowed stakeholders to share their experiences with this process. For example, the speakers confirmed that I-751 receipt numbers with the prefix MSC are routed for interview scheduling; receipt numbers that do not contain the MSC prefix (e.g., EAC, VSC, LIN, etc.) are routed to the appropriate service center for an interview waiver determination. The speakers also clarified that, if the jointly filed I-751 petition is pending at the time of the N-400 interview, an applicant should bring his or her petitioning spouse to the naturalization interview.

SRC is the prefix. Hoping for #1

@JSWH @Jesusboy So I just checked my case history and found this: (I had no idea fingerprints were taken)

December 15, 2020 Your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, was transferred to another USCIS office.
December 14, 2020 The fingerprints relating to your Form I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, were taken.
October 20, 2020 We received your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence

You should be excited!

This is exactly how it should look like. Since your receipt number prefix is "SRC" you have a higher likelihood to be approved in a not too distant future, without any interview. They normally transfer such cases to speed up the processing. That's why the updates came in quick succession; from fingerprints taken to case transfered.
