I just got my I-797 NOA Green card extension letter for 18 months. I have a question: In the document it has my name (the alien non-citizen spouse's) both as a Petitioner and also Beneficiary, so my name 2 times and nowhere my American husband's name...Do you think that is correct? Just want to make sure. Thanks

My husband too!! I'm nervous because the delivery from USPS tracking just says "Phoenix, Arizona"...I don't know if it actually got to the lockbox? I had the correct address though. If we don't hear something after Thanksgiving, does anyone recommend that we should re-send the packet?

Sent Oct 20.

Delivered: Oct 29

I recommend you call USCIS. Since it's been more than 3 weeks they will open a case for you to have your service center review what the hold up is. They did that for me.

I just called the US Postal Service. They were able to verify that my package was in fact sent to the right POBox. I was under the impression, they don't do that... that they only can confirm it was delivered and not tell you where it was delivered to. Though, to be fair he didn't volunteer that information but merely asked me what address I had and told me whether or not it matched. It is a huge relief to know I didn't send it to the wrong address.

My wife was with me when we dropped it off, and she said she remembers double-checking. Guess we just have to wait until they cash the money order.

10/29/2020 - Tracking number confirmed delivery

Still no text message, and money order has not been cashed. :(

My wife's Visa expires on the 18th of December.

I have the exact same delivery date 10/29 as you and also “patiently” waiting for them to cash the check and send the receipt. If you  take a look at this Oct filers spreadsheet, it seems that we should be getting some update in the near future. At least that’s what I’m hoping hopelessly lol...

That's how it supposed to work. Expired GC + extension letter.

I dunno if you're thinking that sworn affidavit is a requirement for entering the US but it's not. Example of sworn affidavit i posted above is for I-75. Just want to make it clear that it wasn't for US re -entry requirements 😊

Yes for I-751 too. Thanks

Hi again! The affidavit from friends, do we submit the original?

This is copied from the instructions:

Copies. You may submit legible photocopies of documents requested, unless the Instructions specifically state that you must submit an original document. USCIS may request an original document at the time of filing or at any time during processing of an application, petition, or request. If you submit original documents when not required, the documents may remain a part of the record, and USCIS will not automatically return them to you.

Hi again! The affidavit from friends, do we submit the original?

Actually in official I-751 instructions it says Originals. Document is here: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-751instr.pdf

"Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by at least two people who have known both of you since your conditional residence was granted and have personal knowledge of your marriage and relationship. (Such persons may be required to testify before an immigration officer as to the information contained in the affidavit.) The original affidavit must be submitted and also contain the following information regarding the person making the affidavit: his or her full name and address; date and place of birth; relationship to you or your spouse, if any; and full information and complete details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge. Affidavits must be supported by other types of evidence listed above."

Thank you for correcting my mistake above.
