I recently received the Affidavit of Support information from the NVC on my

husband's immigrant visa case and we have already started the K3 route and

we're waiting on an interview date from the embassy in Frankfurt. So, I'm

kind of confused what I'm supposed to do now. Am I supposed to send the

Affidavit of Support papers to the NVC or wait on the Embassy or both? And

which way is quicker?

mellaliya,

What you do now depends on how you and your husband prefer that he obtain his LPR status. Do you prefer that he adjust status, or do you prefer that he make a trip back to Germany for an immigrant visa?

"Which way is quicker" to accomplish .... what?

Shewolf,

Depends. What visa interview? Which affidavit?

Yodrak

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you must bring the Affidavit of Support to the interview, not send it in.

Spouse visa, affidavit of support. That's what I thought, too.

mellaliya,

Which spouse visa - K3 or CR1(or IR1)? Each requires a different affidavit of support, presented at a different time and place.

As I asked in my first reply to you, which visa - and therefore which affidavit - do you wish to pursue? Or do you plan to pursue both?

From what I understand, she received a letter from NVC regarding the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864).

The consulate will request an affidavit of support (usually Form I-134) to process your husband's K3. The NVC and the U.S. consulate are separate entities. Even if NVC has received your Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) to continue processing your husband's immigrant visa, the consulate will separately request one as well (usually Form I-134) to continue processing his K3 visa.

PS: personally, we chose not to continue with the NVC (I still haven't sent my payment for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) fee) But it's up to her. She can still pursue both avenues if she likes.

Sometimes I think I know everything, and I regain consciousness. Seen it all, done it all, forgot most of it....

So much plenitude, yet so much emptiness
