Received the I-797 text, what comes next?

Hello,

 

My fiancée just received a text regarding the I-797 “USCIS: Your case was received. *receipt #* Official receipt notice (I-797) to follow in mail.”
So, I was doing research and saw the I-797 is the approval (is it the NOA1 or 2? I’m not sure.) they received our package on Sept 23rd, I’m just confused because we got the text so quickly after they received the petition. What comes next? And how long are K-1 issuers waiting now to be scheduled an interview?

It’s not the approval. The first I-797C that you receive is the acknowledgment that the case has been received and logged. The second one will be the approval in several months’ time. That’s why they are commonly referred to as NOA1 and NOA2. 

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

 

Now a US citizen!
