Does Priority Date matter?

I see people here mentioning their priority date a lot. I just got my NOAs for the 485 and the Priority Date is Sept 1. I am adjusting via marriage, but not from a K1 visa. Does the priority date hold any significance, other than being the official date my AOS application was received?

No. That's just a mix up of terms since priority dates are not relevant for AOS through marriage.

Edit: it could matter to determine when you get outside of normal processing times but we all hope that we don't cross that bridge
