Medical exam question

I read that some are sending in AOS packet without I-693 and waiting to bring it to the interview/get an RFE. Is this a good practice? I don't know how long it will take to get the exam, but I can only imagine that an RFE would end up taking longer, and it is possible that the interview would be waived even though it is an F1 AOS? Thanks. Local office is St. Paul.

I am not sure if it would take longer as the RFE would say bring it to the interview (not an expert, just what I've read). I did it ahead of time because it was easier to get everything done at once and not have to worry about getting it at a later date.
