If that’s what you think 🤷🏻‍♀️ Maybe people need to come together to make a change . They are never happy with who is in power.

Why has this country's consulate begun a"phased reopening" which includes offering "limited interview appointments for applicants who qualify for an exception to the covid 19 presidential proclaimations" meaning those who fall under CR1, CR2, IR1, and IR2. Nothing against this country but in comparison to Haiti these are the latest statistics as of 9-29-2020.

Sweden population: 10,114,699

Embassy: Stockholm

Coronavirus cases: 90,923

Deaths: 5,880

Recoverd: unknown

Haiti population: 11,436,228

Embassy: Port-au-Prince

Coronavirus cases: 8,740

Deaths: 227

Recovered: 6,757

As @johnnyj points Haiti has been played plauged by civil unrest for as long as I've been alive. What makes Haiti worse in the past two years than it has been in past previous years, so much so that interviews at a heavily secured embassy (inside and outside) cannot be conducted? Have Embassy personnel not been able to travel to the embassy for work everyday in the previous years before 2019 where there has been civil unrest off and on? It all seems fishy to me just saying.

I've received numerous messages from the embassy with staff required to shelter in place. I completely understand if embassy personal that have been sent home to the US haven't been sent back yet due to the civil unrest...why should they subject their workers to that?  Also it's not like the protests are happening in Cap Haitian they are happening right in PAP, Tabarre, in front of the embassy even. The reality is it is the Haitians ruining it for other Haitians. I wouldn't really call the embassy "heavily secured" - have you seen the area?! and if 100,000 people are protesting down the street they can definitely overpower it.

looking at what @johnnyjposted from 9/28 it said their unable to process visa services for nonimmigrant and immigrant they don't have a date. i am looking now and this is what i see

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

September 29, 2020

Due to COVID-19, the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince is unable to offer non-emergency nonimmigrant visa services at this time.  We are unable to provide a specific date when we will be able to resume routine visa services.  Please continue to monitor this site for up-to-date information.

For nonimmigrant visas, the U.S. Mission to Haiti will extend the validity of your visa application processing fee (known as the MRV fee) until December 31, 2021, to allow applicants an opportunity to schedule a visa appointment with the already paid fee once routine services resume.

now my question is the embassy open for immigrant services? like the old text it had both i am not getting excited i just want to know i see this right. i got this update on here http://cdn.ustraveldocs.com/ht/ what are your thoughts
