Hi All - I moved to a new address last month(08/10/2020) and my Green Card 5 YR anniversary was 09/15/2020. Given that the move was within 10 miles but a different county , do I need to wait for 3 months before applying for naturalization?

Appreciate some inputs.

Thanks

Its all about the USCIS jurisdiction. Technically you could move 1 mile and have changed offices which would trigger the 3 month requirement. Go here and check if both zip codes resolve to the same office https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-a-uscis-office/field-offices

Thanks ! Both my addresses resolve to the same USCIS office . So I assume this doesn't require a 3 month wait time. Am I reading it right?

What I understand is that they state 3 months "in state", so as long as it's in the same state your eligibility isn't an issue. The only thing is if the zip code changes, then your file could go to one center/office versus another if it is located at the border between two jurisdictions, but eligibility is okay if within the same state.

https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-d-chapter-6

In general, an applicant for naturalization must file his or her application for naturalization with the state or service district that has jurisdiction over his or her place of residence. The applicant must have resided in that location for at least three months prior to filing. ...

The term “service district” is defined as the geographical area over which a USCIS office has jurisdiction.
