A federal judge on Friday ordered the U.S. Postal Service to implement “extraordinary measures” in 22 districts across the country — including several in battleground states — where on-time delivery of ballots has dipped below a rate of 90 percent for two days this week.

The postal districts in need of extra measures, according to Washington, D.C., District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, included Atlanta, central Pennsylvania, Detroit, Greater Michigan, Greensboro in North Carolina and Lakeland in Wisconsin — all key battleground areas in the presidential race between President Trump and his Democratic challenger, Joseph R. Biden Jr.

Nationally, more than 54 million mail ballots have been returned to election officials, while more than 36 million remain outstanding, according to the nonprofit U.S. Elections Project.

Judge Sullivan also ordered the Postal Service to file with the court “explanations for the current level of service and any corrective measures that are now being implemented.”

In a filing on Friday, the Postal Service said that staffing issues resulting from the coronavirus pandemic were causing problems in some facilities, including in central Pennsylvania and Detroit. Only 78 percent of employees are available, according to the filing.

“At the same time that staffing unavailability has become a factor, there has been an increased volume in package and market dominant products,” lawyers for the Postal Service wrote. “The Postal Service has worked diligently to employ corrective measures to resolve these issues.”

Yet for some reason I have been getting all the election mailers on time.

If we can access our IRS and Social Security accounts online, why the hell cant we vote online instead of mail? is it because it would disenfranchise those who are not legally able to?  And the deceased couldn't access their account?

Maybe this will answer your question; I have a good friend who's a Die hard Democrat, votes Democrat in every election, his Wife who's a registered democrat passed away in 2012,  in every election year since her death, he is still receiving her absentee ballot in the mail.  Despite his misguided hatred for President Trump, he's not a dishonest Democrat who would cast her ballot, but think for a moment how many would.

 

I think it comes down to the State and Counties.. Most Republican run States purge Voter Registration roles of people who are deceased or have moved, or at least attempt to, if their not met with a lawsuit from the Democratic party.

This is the county beside mine and I have friends of mine that work for the county sheriff. I have asked his wife if he is ok and supposedly he is. I will try to get back up with him today. @CanAm1980


Just FYI for anyone but Alamance County is definitely not the place to do some shenanigans like this. They do not mess around at all and you will get sprayed an in jail in a heartbeat. Sheriff Johnson does not play with BS and you will wind up in jail. Not to mention the vast majority of these people ARE NOT EVEN FROM GRAHAM OR ALAMANCE COUNTY AT ALL. They are outside agitators with a very small (at most 5-10 people) that they use to say "See we are from here".
