Charged as "pending" and now the charge got removed.

My card was charged for the I-130 and the I-485 on the 24th and the two payments showed up as pending on my account. Today, however, the charges were completely gone.

I'm guessing that it is just getting switched from pending to posted and that the payment will post any day. This actually happens a lot with other purchases as well so I am not that concerned. 

 

Has this happened to someone else as well? That it gets posted as pending and then gets removed before the charge is posted? Is this common with USCIS?

09/25/2020 - Debit Card was charged by USCIS                                                                                                 12/28/2020 - Recieved the I-944 RFIE via e-mail after speaking with a tier 2 officer

09/29/2020 - Recieved text notifications from USCIS with reciept numbers                                                  1/11/2021 - Responded to the RFIE and sent the I-944 to USCIS 

10/01/2020 - Recieved rejected I-765 back                                                                                                           3/3/2021 - Biometrics scheduled for 03/29

10/05/2020 - Recieved physical reciept notices in the mail

10/06/2020 - Sent I-765 to Chicago Lockbox using UPS

10/09/2020 - Package was recieved by USCIS

10/30/2020 - Recieved text notication from USCIS with reciept number for I-765

Usually the change from pending to charges is immediate, at least in my experience. If you don't see the charge on the recent activity list then just call your CC company and inquire.  I presume USCIS doesn't send SMS/email notifications until the funds are transferred from an applicant's credit card company. Also, on some USCIS page they explain the lockbox intake procedure, which if merember correctly lists the next to the last step, before transferring the case to the appropriate USCIS service center, as transferring the funds to the U.S. Treasury.  So, I imagine Uncle Sam has your money (and most likely has already spent squandered it.)

 

FWIW, mine was "pending" from about 1:30AM throughout the entire calendar day - I last checked at about 11:00PM - and the next morning - I checked at about 6:30AM - it was in my recent charges; DiscoverCard.

My folks just sent me a text saying there's a letter in the mail from USCIS. I'm guessing it's the receipt?

Most likely!! You should get one for each form but they can probably come different days (especially with how unpredictable USPS is these days).
