Hi Guys,

Need some help. I'm a USC who filed a fiance(k1) visa last year for my fiance who is in Quito, Ecuador.

We met in Miami when she was here on a work visa and she overstayed in the US for 7 months.

She returned to Quito on her own with no issues.

The visa was approved, then she went for the interview 07/06 and was denied due to the overstay.

We filed the 601 and 212 forms that were recieved in Panama 12/06.

My question is when will we have an answer on the waiver?

Thank you.

Why the 212?

I do not know the processing times for Panama and immigrate2us is down, my guess a year but search for others going through Panama.

As Boiler said, there is no reason for a 212 waiver for an overstay - 212s are for official deportation. Were you directed to file this as well?

Until www.immigrate2us.net is back up and you can get an idea of processing time there, you can email Panama to ask about status: panama.uscis@dhs.gov

well, you are not alone (even though it may feel like it)... my husband's waiver is also going through panama.. it has been there since oct. & no approval as yet.. i called them about 3 weeks. ago to get a status update & they say they are working on waivers from june 2006 (personally i don't believe that because i have a little bit of knowledge that that's not really acurate).... they used to be MUCH faster than they are now about waivers but it seems the process has come to a screeching halt.... my advice is to call them & ask the status.. unfortunately, you'll get no response to an e-mail you send them.. if i can be of any help don't hesitate to contact me... i'm on this site at least once a day..
