Often for convenience/simplicity.

A blood test is not really that "strange". My state used to require one until just before the 2000s, and some US states still do. There are plenty of "stranger" - IMHO - requirements in other countries.

Hi everyone iam not yet in the process of the spousal visa but I need an important information to start it hope I can find some help. Iam living in France 🇫🇷 and my fiancée is in the 🇺🇸. Because of the travel ban we can’t see each other and the 3rd country option to meet is not possible for now . We plan to get married through Utah county clerk (on line marriage ) they also give you marriage license /apostille. And then file the cr1 visa . But will this marriage be recognized buy the American administration (uscis) and then is it ok? We don’t’ want mess up and wait time 😕thank you so much .

No, it will not be accepted by USCIS

Whats the hurry?  You haven't even in real life met in person.

This is like a proxy marriage, even if marriage is consumated before filing with USCIS , the big burden of proof is on you and your spouse.   1st Red Flag,   On line marriage, #2 Red Flag,  WHATS THE HURRY?? You married a stranger on line?? says USCIS

Trust me the US Embassy is brutal there for interview, trust me, I've been there.  After a elaborate French wedding was cancelled due to needed one more paper submitted 1 day before deadline there , I married via proxy, and it was a total nightmare at interview. Even with 4 previous trips to Paris before the wedding  to see my now ex and 2 more after marriage.        5th trip was on a plane to him right after the proxy marriage.

Wait, don't rush.

Best Wishes,

Formally,

Paris Heart

A blood test isn't a "strange requirement" most states still require one and when I married my husband in Jordan, we were required to get one there.

No  as you can not consummate the marriage  (make (a marriage or relationship) complete by having sexual intercourse.)

I wonder how one could prove this   Being in each other's presence doesn't necessary mean that, right? Pretty sure in the instructions they also say not to send graphic photos of intimate relations (which is a hilarious thing  to specify)

It does not matter.  It is implied to have been consummated if the two have been in each other's presence.

Most states?  Not most US states.  In fact, only one: Montana.

Could just say "meet each other in person afterwards" then... like how the K1 visa requirement is phrased. People in that situation might be confused as to how literally they should take it, and it feels safer to provide more instead of less...

Depends on each state/municipality.   Where we have a place they are doing a blood std test. . . and if you test positive you can still get married.  In fact, where we lived, you had to get a blood type test with your first driver's license.

But the CO can ask if 2 people sleep together and they do ask  /they asked my husband

One (high fraud country) CO asked an immigrant if his USC wife had any identifying marks on her body under the clothes and he told them about a birth mark and since she was there ,  they took her in and a woman checked it out.
